Trump urged to facilitate Kashmir solution

Srinagar, February 24 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian government is pursuing repression against women as a policy in an attempt to crush the ongoing freedom movement against its illegal occupation.

A report released by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service revealed that at least 671 women have been martyred by Indian troops since January 2001. The report pointed out that 22,911 women were widowed while 11,178 molested by Indian forces’ personnel since January 1989. The report said that thousands of Kashmiri women lost their sons, husbands, fathers and brothers after they were subjected to custodial disappearances by the troops in the territory.

The report maintained that several women including Hurriyat leaders, Aasiya Andrabi, Fehmeeda Sofi and Naheeda Nasreen were facing illegal detention for just representing the Kashmiri people’s aspirations. »

Srinagar, February 24 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations continued to denounce the tragic incident of Kunan-Poshpora mass rape, perpetrated by Indian men in uniform in Kupwara district almost three decades ago.

Hurriyat leader Yasmeen Raja in a statement in Srinagar in connection with the 29th anniversary of the incident called upon the UN Secretary General, António Guterres, to conduct impartial investigation into the gruesome incident. She said five of the victims reportedly died waiting for justice.

Yasmeen Raja emphasized a thorough, impartial and effective investigation into the mass rape incident and appealed to the people of India to stand for humanity and justice. She questioned the silence of Indian civil society, activists, writers and all those who claim to be defenders of human rights. »

Islamabad, February 24 (KMS): The Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party has appealed the US President, Donald Trump to influence government of India to ensure fundamental freedoms to the people of occupied Kashmir.

The DFP leader, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar in a statement issued in Islamabad today, said, “The people of Kashmir hope that the US President, in line with his commitment of mediating Kashmir dispute, will urge the government of India to adopt necessary measures for addressing the dire situation in the held territory besides promoting a stable environment of peace and security between India and Pakistan”. »

Bengaluru, February 24 (KMS): Former Indian National Security Advisor M.K. Narayanan while advocating the resumption of political engagement by the Modi government with leadership in occupied Jammu and Kashmir has stressed that India needs to reopen a dialogue with Pakistan.

Speaking at an event in Bengaluru, Narayanan said the government is running out of time diplomatically to explain its actions on the decision to amend Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, as well as the communication shutdown and mass detentions that have followed. »

Srinagar, February 24 (KMS: In occupied Kashmir, central leader of Jamaat-e-Islami, Advocate Shaikh Ali Muhammad, died in Pulwama district.

A large number of people from all walks of life participated in his funeral prayers, which was offered at his hometown in Tral.

Besides being a prominent leader of the freedom struggle, Shaikh Ali Muhammad is father of Islamabad-based journalist, Showkat Ali. Shaikh Ali Muhammad and his family contributed a lot for the freedom cause.

New Delhi, February 24 (KMS): After the phasing out of MiG-21 from Indian Air Force for being known as flying coffins because of frequent crashes, now it is the turn of MiG-29 to meet the similar fate.

In the latest such incident, a MiG-29K fighter jet crashed near Goa on Sunday morning. The crashed fighter plane belonged to the Indian Navy.

“Today morning at around 1030h a MiG-29K aircraft on a routine training sortie crashed off Goa. The pilot of the aircraft ejected safely and has been recovered,” a Navy spokesperson said in a statement. »

Thousands of women martyred, molested in IOK since Jan 1989

Islamabad, February 24 (KMS): Prime Minister of Pakistan on the occasion of the Kashmir Women Resistance Day has urged the world community to become voice for Kashmiri women in occupied Kashmir.

Prime Minister Imran Khan in a tweet message on the occasion of 29th anniversary of the tragic Kunan-poshpora mass rape incident, which is observed in occupied Kashmir as Kashmir Women Resistance Day, said: “Today is Kashmir Women Resistance Day. For 7 decades, Indian forces have committed war crimes against women in IOJ&K. Their sufferings have multiplied after 5 August siege by Modi Govt. Women including Aasiya Andrabi facing illegal detention

Islamabad, February 23 (KMS): The miseries and victimization of Kashmiri women by the Indian troops and police personnel continue unabated in occupied Kashmir.

According to a report released by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service on the occasion of the Kashmiri Women’s Resistance Day, today, revealed that at least 671 women have been martyred by Indian troops since January 2001 till date.

Islamabad, February 23 (KMS): Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday urged the global fraternity, especially women, “to become the voice of resilient Kashmiri women for peace” in the occupied Muslim-majority region that has been under an Indian military lockdown for nearly 200 days.

Highlighting the Kashmir Women Resistance Day, he spoke of how the Indian forces have continuously engaged in war crimes against women of the Himalayan territory for almost 70 years. »
