Families of three slain youth refute Indian Army’s claim

Srinagar, September 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, normal life remained crippled in Bandipore district of north Kashmir for the fifth consecutive day today, against the killing of five youth by Indian troops.

The troops killed two youth on Thursday and three others on Friday during a prolonged cordon and search operation in Sumlar area of the district.

All shops and business establishments remained closed in the district while a thin movement of private vehicles was witnessed on roads. »

Srinagar, September 19 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities imposed restrictions in and around Srinagar to prevent the mourning processions on the 8th of Muharram, today.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Srinagar district administration imposed restrictions in Shaheed Gunj, Batamaloo, Sher Garhi, Karan Nagar, Kothi Bagh, Maisuma, Kral Khud, Ram Munshi Bagh and Nehru Park areas of the city.

Indian paramilitary and police personnel equipped with sophisticated weapons have been deployed while razor wire has been laid in all parts of the city to restrict the mourning processions. »

Srinagar, September 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL), comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik will soon start a sustained election boycott campaign on social media with only one key slogan – ‘No election, only right to self-determination’.

This was announced by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq while addressing a gathering in Srinagar. He said New Delhi must understand that it can no longer woo people through cheap slogans of sarak, bijli, pani (roads, electricity and water) as Kashmiris are not interested in any polls – local bodies, panchayat, Kashmir Assembly or Indian Parliament. “All elections announced for Kashmir are nothing but a farce aimed at diluting the basic nature of Kashmir dispute,” he pointed out. »

Srinagar, September 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), today, organized a protest demonstration in Srinagar against the recent civilian killing in Pulwama and plight of illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists languishing in different jails.

Soon after the Friday prayers, scores of JKLF activists led by senior party leaders held a demonstration at Maisuma in Srinagar.

The demonstration was held in response to a call by the Joint Resistance Leadership to protest the recent civilian killing in Pulwama and the plight of Kashmiri prisoners languishing in different jails of India and the occupied territory. »

Srinagar, September 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, scores of victims of 2014 devastating flood, despite several assurances and promises, have not received the financial aid announced by the government of India under the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund in 2015.

Several victims who spoke to media persons said that they had taken loans from banks for reconstruction or repair of their flood-hit homes and shops after the authorities’ assurance that they would be provided financial aid.

Srinagar, September 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, employees at Soura Institute of Medical Sciences in Srinagar held a protest demonstration at the premises of the hospital to press for the immediate release of their colleague, Syed Shakeel Ahmed.

Scores of the employees including non-gazetted and technical staff boycotted the work and assembled at the premises of the hospital to register their protest against the arrest of Syed Shakeel Ahmed, the son of prominent freedom leader, Syed Salahuddin, by India’s National Investigation Agency.

The NIA had arrested Syed Shakeel Ahmed from his residence in Rambagh area of Srinagar on August 30, 2018. He was later taken to New Delhi by the NIA for questioning. »
