Srinagar, May 17 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference while appealing the freedom loving people of Kashmir to observe complete shutdown on 21 May 2021, to commemorate the martyrdom anniversaries of Khwaja Abdujl Ghani Lone, Mirwaiz Mohamed Farooq and martyrs of Hawal.

The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, paid glowing tributes to these martyrs who laid down their precious lives for the sacred cause of freedom.

On this day protest rallies will be organised against the ruthless genocide, human rights abuses, illegal arrests, harassment, frequent use of brute force and barbarism perpetrated by the Indian occupation forces against the freedom loving people of Kashmir, added the statement.

Terming both the leaders as the great and visionary icons of our freedom moment, the spokesman said that invisible hands of Indian agencies engineered their deep conspiracies from the very inception of the ongoing resistance moment to leave it leaderless but the brave people of Kashmir faced every such odd situation by displaying sagacity and political acumen in foiling down these nefarious designs of India.

The spokesman also paid salutes and glowing tributes to all the martyrs of the freedom movement, especially, since 1931,13th July and said that the nation refresh its pledge to carry the sacred mission to its logical conclusion as we are indebted to the precious sacrifices of our martyrs.

Srinagar, March 16 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, complete shutdown was observed in Shopian and adjoining Pulwama districts against the killing of two youth and destruction of houses by Indian troops.

Bodies of the two martyred youth were recovered from the debris after the troops blasted around a dozen houses with explosive material during a three-day long violent cordon and search operation at Rawalpora in Shopian district. All shops and business establishments were closed while public transport was off the roads. The troops were deployed in strength in different areas of Shopian district to prevent anti-India protest demonstrations. Meanwhile, posters pasted on walls, pillars and electricity poles by Jammu and Kashmir Resistance Movement, Kashmir Youth Forum, and Jammu and Kashmir Justice League called for complete shutdown in IIOJK, tomorrow, against the Indian state terrorism in the territory and to pay homage to the martyred youth.

Hurriyat leaders, Bilal Siddiqui, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Jammu and Kashmir National Front and Jammu and Kashmir Employees Movement in their statements in Srinagar denounced the killings and destruction of houses by the troops in Shopian. Human rights activist, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo, in a statement sought a probe into the complaints of the residents of Rawalpora that they were used as human shields by the troops during the operation.

Muttahidda Majlis-e-Ulema, headed by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, at an emergency meeting in Badgam, today, discussed the situation caused by the recent act of a RSS pawn, Waseem Rizvi. The participants of the meeting, chaired by senior APHC leader and the President of Anjuma Sharie Shian, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, termed the petition filed by Rizvi in the Indian Supreme Court seeking omission of 26 verses of the Holy Quran as a deliberate attempt to hurt the religious sentiments of the billions of Muslims across the world and to stoke sectarian violence.

On the other hand, a protest demonstration of Muslims, Sikhs and Dalits led by Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement Chairman Mir Shahid Saleem was staged in Jammu against blasphemous remarks of Indian citizen Waseem Rizvi. The protesters demanded stern punishment to the blasphemer.

The Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League Chairman, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, speaking in a public meeting in South Kashmir said dialogue is the only way to resolve the lingering Kashmir dispute.

Indian troops conducted fresh operations in Srinagar, Baramulla, Budgam and other parts of the valley. They harassed the inmates during house-to-house searches in Mujgund, Brath and Chadoora areas. The sleuths of India’s National Investigation Agency assisted by personnel of police and paramilitary forces conducted raids at the residence of detained Kashmiri trader, Showkat Ahmed Parray and a shopping complex at Wangipora Sumbal in Bandipora district.

A report released by Kashmir Media Service, today, said that religious minorities particularly Muslims and Christians are under constant threat in India. The report mentioned the introduction of a new and more stringent version of the law in Madhya Pradesh state and said that BJP governments in Indian states plan to impose anti-conversion laws to prevent Hindus from embracing Islam and Christianity. The report pointed out that Christians faced at least 25 incidents of attacks by Hindutva forces in Madhya Pradesh alone, last year.

Srinagar, February 18 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Harriet Conference has said that the complete and exemplary shutdown in the territory on Wednesday against the nefarious designs and ploys of India to hoodwink the international community is an eye-opener for New Delhi as well as the visiting team of European envoys.

The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said the Hurriyat Conference believes in reason and logic to resolve the long-pending Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN resolutions. “India as an aggressor is hell bent to destroy all peaceful means of resolving this issue and its fascist regime with the help of its military power is pushing the people of Kashmir to the wall,” he said.

The spokesman also regretted the role of European envoys visiting IIOJK to overlook the Kashmiris’ demand for right to self-determination and the use of brute force by Indian occupational forces to suppress their freedom sentiments, in addition to their appalling miseries of living in the shade of a war.

The European parliamentary group by accepting the aggressor’s protocol and meeting its stooges only has degraded the ethics of a fair diplomacy, he added.

Srinagar, February 17 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, complete strike is being observed, today, to register protest against the visit of a selected European parliamentary group arranged by the Indian authorities to mislead the international community about the ground situation of the territory.

Call for the strike has been given by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference and supported by all pro-freedom leaders and organizations to remind the international community of its legal and moral responsibilities regarding resolution of the Kashmir dispute.

Al shops and other business establishments are closed while traffic is off the roads in Srinagar and other areas of the Kashmir Valley.

Hurriyat leaders and organizations in their separate statements said the Indian government has conducted these kinds of sponsored visits in the past too but it has miserably failed in its attempts to mislead the international community. They said New Delhi’s false narrative on Jammu and Kashmir finds no takers at international level as the civilized world knows as how brazenly the BJP government has violated the international humanitarian laws by holding millions of Kashmir hostage for the past several months.

They said if the said delegation is really concerned about the subjugated, tormented and oppressed people of the occupied Kashmir it must deny to remain under Indian dictates and volunteer itself to meet the common people, intellectual class, political parties, university and college students to know how brutally they are treated by India.

APHC thanks people for exemplary strike

Srinagar, February 09 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, normal life was crippled due to complete shutdown in Srinagar and other districts of the Valley on the eighth martyrdom anniversary of Kashmiri leader, Muhammad Afzal Guru, today.

Call for the strike was given by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference and Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front and supported by other pro-freedom leaders and organizations. Posters by APHC were pasted in many areas, praising the sacrifice of martyrs Afzal Guru and Maqbool Butt. All shops and business establishments were closed while traffic was largely off the road. Indian forces’ personnel were patrolling the deserted streets, which were only dotted by stray dogs. Police arrested several persons including a woman during house raids. Hurriyat leader Javed Ahmad Mir was put under house arrest. It was on this day in 2013 that Muhammad Afzal Guru was hanged in New Delhi’s Tihar jail for his role in the liberation movement.

Human rights defender Muhammad Ahsan Untoo along with other activists tied a noose around neck at Press Club in Srinagar, today, to register their protest against unjust hanging of the Kashmiri leaders, Muhammad Afzal Guru and Muhammad Maqbool Butt. However, police personnel present there immediately snatched the rope from them.

APHC working Vice Chairman Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, thanked the people of Kashmir for observing the exemplary shutdown. He said that on this day in 2013, Shaheed Guru defeated Indian hegemony by accepting the gallows instead of surrendering to the occupier India.

India continues to draw ire, both at home and abroad, for registering a case under draconian laws against a father of one of the three Srinagar fake encounter victims for demanding the body of his martyred son. Saudi Arabia based English daily Arab News quoting human rights defenders said it had been a cruel decision to book the family under the brutal laws.

Hurriyat leaders Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, Shabbir Ahmed Dar, Abdul Ahad Parra, Khawaja Firdous, Farida Bahenji, Democratic Freedom Party, National Front, Kashmir Tehreek-e-Khawateen and Islami Tanzeem-e-Azadi in their separate statements urged the international community and the United Nations to play a role in resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with UN resolutions.

APHC leaders including Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar, Molvi Bashir Ahmad and Farida Bahenji in their statements in Srinagar and APHC AJK chapter at a meeting in Islamabad expressed condolences with senior APHC leader Ghulam Nabi Sumjhi on the demise of his wife.

The participants of a rally taken out by Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir in Muzaffarabad, today, also paid tributes to Shaheed Afzal Guru.

The office-bearers of the National Press Club of the United States have urged India to release from prison Kashmiri journalist Aasif Sultan, who has been unjustly detained for two and a half years.

Srinagar, January 27 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, complete shutdown is being observed in Kupwara town, today, to remember the victims of a deadly massacre carried out by Indian troops in 1994.

All shops and other business establishments are closed in the town while traffic is off the road.

Meanwhile, people are visiting the Martyrs Graveyard in the town and offering prayers for the victims of the massacre and other Kashmiri martyrs.

Indian troops had mercilessly killed twenty-seven innocent Kashmiris on this day in 1994 to punish the people for observing shutdown on Indian Republic Day, the 26th January, in the town.

On the other hand, justice continues to elude the families of the victims of the massacre even after the passage of twenty seven years.

Local people had told the media and investigation agencies at that time that a day before the carnage took place, an army officer had asked the local shopkeepers not to observe shutdown and attend the Republic Day celebrations at the local camp. However, they shopkeepers didn’t turn up at the celebrations. But the next day, when they were opening their shops, Indian soldiers came in trucks and fired at them indiscriminately, killing 27 people and injuring scores others.

Srinagar, January 23 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, posters appeared in different areas of the territory urging people to observe Black Day and complete shutdown on 26th January, the Indian Republic Day, to register their protest against India’s illegal occupation of their motherland.

The posters were displayed by Tehreek-e-Azadi Jammu and Kashmir, and Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Alliance on walls, polls and prominent places in Srinagar, Badgam, Ganderbal, Pulwama, Islamabad, Shopian, Kulgam, Baramulla, Bandipore and other areas.

The pictures bear the pictures of the veteran Hurriyat leader, Syed Ali Gilani, and illegally detained resistance leaders including Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Aasiya Andrabi, Masarrat Alam Butt, Nayeem Ahmed Khan and Dr Abdul Hameed Fayaz.

The posters say that Indian democracy is a farce and New Delhi’s illegal, undemocratic and repressive measures in IIOJK should serve as an eye-opener for the international community. They say that the detention cannot break the resolve of the Hurriyat leaders and they are determined to carry forward the ongoing struggle for securing the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.

The posters maintain that India celebrates its Republic Day but it itself is the biggest violator of democratic rights. They say that India is practically being ruled by the Hindutva ideology which is the enemy of humanity and violating all rights of minorities and taking anti-humanity measures to fulfill the agenda of RSS.

The posters say that the people of Kashmir would register their protest against India’s illegal occupation of their motherland and convey the message to the world that India’s rigidity on the Kashmir dispute was the biggest hurdle to peace and political stability in the region so the UN must take steps for peaceful settlement of the dispute.

The posters, while rejecting Indian military might policy and anti-Kashmir moves, urge the Kashmiri people to observe complete strike on the Indian Republic Day and hoist black flags on rooftops and vehicles.
