Protests in Kulgam against forces’ atrocities

Srinagar, June 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, many students were injured when Indian police used brute force on students who were protesting in Pulwama, today against the brutalities of Indian troops on the student community and common people across the territory.

Students of Government Degree College and Higher Secondary School took to the streets in Pulwama to press for the release of all illegally detained students arrested during the ongoing students’ agitation. »

Srinagar, June 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, dozens of people were injured after Indian troops barged into their houses and ruthlessly beat whosever came in their way in Shopian district over celebrating Pakistan’s win against Sri Lanka in the ongoing Champions Trophy in England, last night.

As soon as Pakistan won against Sri Lanka, locals came out of their houses in Vehil and Turkwangam areas of the district and burst firecrackers to celebrate the win. Indian troops from a nearby camp rushed to the areas, forced their way into the houses, smashed windowpanes and beat the inmates. The critically injured were shifted to hospitals in Srinagar. The troops also ransacked shops and vandalized vehicles. This brutal action of Indian troops led to massive protests in Shopian. The protesters raised anti-India and pro-freedom slogans. »

Police arrest Muhammad Yasin Malik in Shopian

Srinagar, June 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has condemned Indian forces’ crackdown operations against civilians saying that Kashmiri people are being harassed in all possible way.

The resistance leadership in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, said that raids and crackdowns had become a regular feature in the occupied territory and the people of Kashmir were being held hostage for hours by Indian troops on gunpoint. The leaders ridiculing the statement of police chief that crackdown at Lal Chowk was a part of routine drill said that Indian forces had no respect for civilian rights. The leaders urged international human rights organizations to take notice of occupational forces’ inhuman treatment towards the Kashmiri people. »

Srinagar, June 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani has said that Indian National Investigation Agency (NIA) was being used as a war weapon against Hurriyat leadership in the territory.

Syed Ali Gilani while chairing a meeting of the APHC executive body at his Hyderpora residence said, “NIA has no role and it is unjustified and illogical to drag it in Kashmir.” He said that the authorities were using this agency as a war weapon against leadership and to defame and discredit the freedom struggle. »

Srinagar, June 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, defying curfew and other restrictions, people staged forceful anti-India demonstrations, today, while Indian forces’ personnel used brute force on the demonstrators, injuring several persons.

Call for the demonstrations was given by the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik to protest against the killing of a 12th class student, Aadil Farooq Magray, by Indian troops in Shopian. The protests were also aimed at denouncing the biased reporting by Indian TV channels on Kashmir and the raids of India’s National Investigation Agency on the residences of pro-freedom leaders, activists and businessmen. The leaders had also asked the people of South Kashmir to march towards the residence of martyr Aadil Farooq in Shopian to express solidarity with the bereaved family. »

Srinagar, June 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the puppet authorities have imposed curfew and other restrictions across the Kashmir Valley to prevent people from staging anti-India demonstrations and conducting a march towards Shopian, today.

Srinagar, June 08 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred three more Kashmiri youth in Kupwara district, today, taking the toll to seven since yesterday.

The troops martyred the three youth in vengeance of the killing of an army man in Nowgam area of the district. The troops had killed four youth, earlier, in a military operation in the Machil area of the same district. »

Thousands attend funeral of martyr student

Srinagar, June 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, anti-India protests, marked by shutdown and clashes, were held, today, against the killing of a 12th class student, Aadil Farooq Magray, by Indian troops in Shopian.

Indian troops used brute force and fired teargas shells on the protesters, mainly students, in Pampore, Tral, Pulwama and Handwara areas. Hundreds of students of Islamic University of Science and Technology, Awantipora, were subjected to brute force by the troops when they raising pro-freedom and anti-India slogans marched on Srinagar-Jammu highway. The troops fired teargas shells and pellets on protesters in Pulwama, Namblabal and Pampore areas, critically injuring several persons including girl students. APHC leader, Yasmeen Raja’s car was damaged by the troops during her visit to hospital to enquire about the health of the injured people. Shopian witnessed complete shutdown against the killing of the youth. The mobile Internet services that were restored four days ago were again suspended in the territory. »

Srinagar, June 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, has said that Indian authorities are working on a new strategy to create an appalling situation in the territory to justify the use of lethal weapons against local population.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Kashmir was a political and human dispute and shelving it for long would further deteriorate the volatile situation in the South Asian region. He warned that the status quo on Kashmir would deteriorate the already charged atmosphere between Pakistan and India. Syed Ali Gilani asked India to shun rigid approach and fulfill its commitment with the people of Kashmir. »

Srinagar, June 05 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism, martyred four Kashmiri youth in a fake encounter in Bandipore district, today.

The youth were killed during a joint action by Indian Central Reserve Police Force and police in Sumbal area of the district. The local people refuted the claim of police that the youth were shot dead after they attacked a CRPF camp. They said that the bodies of the martyrs were badly mutilated by the troops. »
