Calls for observing complete strike in IOK on Feb 9, 11

Srinagar, February 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has paid glowing tributes to prominent Kashmiri liberation leaders, Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru, on the eve of their martyrdom anniversaries.

Indian authorities had hanged Muhammad Maqbool Butt in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail on 11th February in 1984 while Muhammad Afzal Guru was sent to the gallows in the same jail on 9th February, 2013, for their role in the Kashmir freedom movement. Their bodies remain buried in the premises of the jail. »

Rawalpindi, February 05 (KMS): Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, has said that “We will continue to support Kashmir till the dawn of freedom”.

General Qamar Javed Bajwa in his massage on Kashmir Solidarity Day, today, said Pakistani nation is standing firm with Kashmiri brethren.

“The army is diligent in performing its duties. The struggle for Kashmir’s freedom is alive due to the sacrifices of armed forces and Kashmiris. We will continue to support Kashmir till the dawn of freedom,” he said in the message.

He said that in occupied Kashmir state terrorism was at its peak and Pakistan would go to any lengths for the Kashmiris. »

Srinagar, January 21 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the deadliest Gaw Kadal massacre continues to haunt the families of the victims as they have failed to get justice even 30 years have passed since the tragedy happened.

Over 50 people were killed and hundreds others were injured when Indian troops had opened fire on peaceful protesters in Gaw Kadal area of Srinagar on this day in 1990.

On January 21, 1990, the troops associated with Indian Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) had barged into residential houses in Chota Bazar area of Srinagar and molested several women. Thousands of people defying restrictions, imposed by the administration of the then Governor, Jagmohan Malhotra came out on roads and began to march towards the downtown Srinagar via Gaw Kadal. As people reached the Gaw Kadal bridge, the men of Central Reserve Police Force opened indiscriminate fire killing more than 50 people. »

Chirhoi (AJK), January 19 (KMS): A condolence conference was held in Chirhoi, Azad Kashmir, to pay tributes to Haron Abbas Wani, who was martyred by Indian troops in Doda area of occupied Kashmir, recently.

The conference was chaired by Muhammad Shabbir Wani, the uncle of the martyr.

Jammu, January 17 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Movement, Muhammad Sharif Sartaj, has paid rich tributes to martyred youth, Engineer Haroon Abbas Wani, by Indian troops.

Haroon Abbas Wani was martyred by Indian troops during a cordon and search operation in Gundana area of the Doda district on Wednesday.

Muhammad Sharif Sartaj in a statement issued in Jammu said that martyred Haroon Abbas Wani was a highly educated youth who sacrificed his life for the sake of the freedom of the people of Kashmir.

Jammu, November 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, APHC leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir People’s Movement (JKPM), Mir Shahid Saleem, has paid glowing tributes to renowned Kashmiri scholar, Professor Dr Syed Abdul Rehman Gilani.

Professor SAR Gilani, who breathed his last after having suffered severe heart attack in New Delhi recently, was elder brother of APHC-AJK Convener, Syed Abdullah Gilani. »

The information about her death was received lately due to restrictions and communications blockade imposed by India on 5th August when New Delhi scrapped Jammu and Kashmir’s special status. »

Jammu, September 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Movement (JKPM) has paid glowing tributes to the noted Islamic scholar and leader of Jamaat-e-Islami from Kishtwar, Ghulam Nabi Gundna, who passed away after a prolonged illness on Sunday.

The JKPM Chairman, Mir Shahid Saleem in a statement issued in Jammu said that the JI leader devoted his whole life for the service of Islam and humanity. He said in early nineties Ghulam Nabi Gundna was subjected to the worst kind of physical and mental torture by the Indian agencies.

He also condemned imposition of curfew in Kishtwar on the day of Gundna’s funeral, preventing thousands of people from participating in his last rites.

He said that occupied Kashmir had been under a lockdown for the last 47 days and called upon the Indian civil society and the world community to come to the rescue of besieged Kashmiris.

Srinagar, July 31 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leader Mushtaq-ul-Islam Paying rich tributes to the youth martyred by Indian troops in Shopian, Bijbehara and Gurez has said that these brave hearts have laid down their lives to end the age-old slavery of their people by India.

Mushtaq-ul-Islam in a statement in Srinagar extended heartfelt condolences to the martyrs’ families saying that the Kashmiri people shared their grief.

He urged people to forge unity among their folds, and said that in these horrendous circumstances, “we need to repose faith in Almighty Allah only and seek His blessings.” »

Srinagar, July 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organisations have paid rich tributes to the martyrs of 13th July 1931 on their martyrdom anniversary, today.

On 13th July 1931, the troops of Dogra Maharaja had killed 22 Kashmiris, one after the other, outside Central Jail in Srinagar during the court proceedings against one Abdul Qadeer who had asked the Kashmiri people to defy the Dogra rule. »
