Srinagar, January 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, police have said that the PhD scholar, Mannan Wani, who has reportedly joined the ranks of Mujahideen, is fast becoming a trend among the Kashmiri youth, like martyr Burhan Wani. Mannan Wani, a PhD scholar in applied geology at Aligarh Muslim University, will be one of the three PhD scholars to join the Mujahideen since the killing of Burhan Wani in 2016. »

The soldier identified as Sachin Kumar Singh, 30, was found hanging from the ceiling fan of his room inside residential quarters of the Air Force Station in Udhampur district. Sachin Kumar was resident of Agra, Uttar Pradesh. »

Srinagar, January 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party has served a legal notice to the Indian channel, ETV Urdu for broadcasting baseless reports about its illegally detained Chief, Shabbir Ahmed Shah.

The DFP in a statement issued in Srinagar, said the notice states that in consequence of the fake news item on ETV Urdu, the TV channel has committed breach of fundamental and personal rights of Shabbir Ahmed Shah.

“The notice has called upon ETV Urdu to take note of and pay an amount of rupees 50 million to Shabbir Shah for inflicting harm upon him,” the DFP said. The notice was issued through advocate Fayaz Ahmed Sodagar. »

Srinagar, January 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has termed the call for dialogue as a drama being enacted by the puppet rulers to divert the world’s attention from the deteriorating ground situation in the territory.

A spokesman for the forum in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “It is the height of hypocrisy that, on one hand, the subservient partner of the authoritarian ruling regime, the PDP sermonises and uses sugar-coated terms of dialogue, reconciliation and mutual trust building among stakeholders for the resolution of the Kashmir dispute and on the other hand, it deals with an iron fist.” The spokesman was referring to the statement of the puppet Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, in which she had asked for finding out the settlement of the Kashmir dispute through talks. »

Srinagar, January 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the family of a class 10 student who was killed by the Indian police in 2011 is living the adage ‘justice delayed is justice denied’ for the past six years.

For past five months, Human Rights Commission of the territory awaits statement of a block medical officer who is believed to be in Saudi Arabia. Junaid Ahmad Khuroo’s family had filed a petition with the commission in 2012, saying that the police had murdered him. It contested the police charge that Junaid shot himself with a pistol.

In 2013, a team constituted by the commission carried out the probe and released 15-page report, which revealed how police planned the murder of Junaid. »

Speakers of the seminar, which was attended by people from various walks of life including the academics, diplomats, members of civil society, highlighted the crimes against humanity committed by the troops particularly blinding of Kashmiri youth on mass scale through use of pellet guns. »
