Beijing, March 12 (KMS): India strongly dreams to become a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) but now it is wantonly violating its resolutions.

Therefore, it has no qualification to be a permanent member of it.

These views were expressed by Cheng Xizhong, Visiting Professor at Southwest University of Political Science and Law and Chinese diplomat in South Asian countries in a statement issued here. »

Geneva, February 27 (KMS): The UN human rights chief has expressed her continuing concern over the deteriorating human rights situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, expressed this concern while updating the 46th session of the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in Geneva on human rights issues in more than 50 countries. »

United Nations, December 23 (KMS): Three United Nations human rights experts have called on India to “immediately” stop its intimidation and a series of reprisals against Amnesty International (AI) in response to the organization’s work in exposing human rights violations in India, especially in occupied Kashmir and during the February anti-Muslim riots in Delhi.

London-based Amnesty International, a human rights organisation, halted operations in India in September after its bank accounts were frozen and its executives interrogated by Indian financial authorities, in what AI called was a two-year campaign of harassment. »

United Nations, December 23 (KMS): The investigation by the United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) into Friday’s incident in which Indian troops at the Line of Control (LoC) in the disputed Kashmir region fired at a UN vehicle is continuing, according to a UN spokesman.

The vehicle was damaged but two UN military observers, who were conducting routine monitoring activities near Rawalakot on the Pakistani side of LoC, escaped unhurt. On Friday, the UN confirmed that its vehicle was damaged by an “unidentified object”, and that the Mission was investigating the incident. »

United Nations, December 19 (KMS): The United Nations has confirmed that a vehicle of the U.N. Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) was hit by an “unidentified object” near Rawalakot on the Pakistani side of Line of Control (LoC)in disputed Kashmir region, but the occupants were not injured.

United Nations, November 26 (KMS):United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will “study” the dossier that Pakistan gave him on Tuesday, Deputy Spokesman Farhan Aziz Haq has said.

The dossier, prepared by the Pakistan Government after full investigation of India’s “illegal and aggressive activities”, was handed over the UN chief by Ambassador Munir Akram at his 38th floor office in the UN building.

“We have received the document, and we will study that — that’s as much as the reaction I have at the moment,” the spokesman said in response to questions at the regular noon briefing in New York. »

United Nations, November 18 (KMS): At the United Nations, Pakistan has reaffirmed its opposition to adding new permanent members in an enlarged UN Security Council saying India does not even qualify for a seat on 15-member body.

Speaking at UN General Assembly, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to UN Munir Akram, without naming India, said South Asian country has waged twenty wars since independence and fomented terrorism and instability across the region especially against Pakistan. »
