Troops go berserk, beat people, ransack shops

Srinagar, April 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the High Court Bar Association has condemned the use of bullets and pellets by Indian forces against the civilians in Shopian and other parts of the territory.

The Bar Association in a statement issued in Srinagar appealed to the international human rights originations to take notice of the brutalities perpetrated by Indian troops in length and breadth of the occupied territory and play their effective role to stop these abuses. Around two dozen civilians were injured with pellets fired by the troops on protesters in Gahind area of Shopian district on Saturday. Four critically injured were referred to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for treatment. The troops also ruthlessly thrashed two boys at Rafiabad in Baramulla on Thursday. »

Srinagar, April15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian forces ruthlessly beat up several people and ransacked shops during a cordon and search operation in Islamabad town.

The troops went berserk and beat passersby and ransacked shops in Shirpora area of Islamabad town. A local, Amir Ganai, received multiple injuries.

On the other hand, Indian troops also launched cordon and search operations in Kulgam, Pulwama and Shopian districts. »

Srinagar, April 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Sunday ban on the movement of civilian traffic on Jammu-Srinagar highway has started to take its toll on livelihood of vendors as well as customers who are connected to the weekly Sunday market, Lal Chowk, in Srinagar.

The ban is also hitting trade at Makka Market, Goni Khan Market and Hari Singh High Street in the city. Vendors say that customer footfall has dwindled since the highway ban began. »

Srinagar, April 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leader Mushtaqul Islam while condemning the shifting of Kashmiri political prisoners from Srinagar to Haryana and other states of India has expressed concern over the plight of the prisoners lodged in different jails.

Mushtaqul Islam in a statement issued in Srinagar, said, even the judicial orders regarding prisoners were utterly disregarded and that prisoners were suffering from mental and physical torture. »

Srinagar, April 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Kashmir Tehreek-e-Khawateen Chairperson, Zamrooda Habib has appealed to the people of the territory to stage complete boycott of the sham Indian parliament elections.

Zamrooda Habib during her door-to-door anti-election campaign at Litter in Pulwama district persuaded the womenfolk to stay indoors during all next phases of the so-called elections. She said that such elections yielded nothing for the Kashmiri people except for worries and miseries in the form of Indian oppression and occupation. »

Islamabad, April 15 (KMS): The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League and former Convener of All Parties Hurriyat Conference AJK chapter, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, has strongly condemned the large scale arrests of Hurriyat leaders, crackdowns and home searches of pro-freedom people and parties and shifting of detainees to Indian jails.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in a statement issued in Islamabad also denounced the shifting of Muhammad Yaseen Malik to New Delhi’s Tihar jail, India’s failure to release long-term freedom prisoners despite court orders, assaults on women, damage to the eyes of Raja Begum of Palhalan Pattan during her home’s search operation by Indian troops and killing of several youth in the Valley-vide army operations. »
