Geneva, July 08 (KMS): The Kashmir conflict must receive the United Nations urgent consideration in implementing its promised referendum in Jammu and Kashmir, was the key point raised at an event held on the sidelines of 41st session of UN Human Rights Council (HRC) in Geneva.

The event titled “Justice and Self-determination” was hosted by International Human Rights Association of American Minorities (IHRAAM), International Commission of Human Rights (ICHR) and Indigenous Peoples and Nations Coalition (IPNC), and was moderated by Ambassador Ronald Barnes, Chairman of IPNC. »

Geneva, July 08 (KMS): The Kashmir Roadside Roundtable organized by the Organisation of Kashmir Coalition (OKC) in Geneva demanded constitution of an independent enquiry commission to investigate all the crimes committed by Indian forces in occupied Kashmir and a panel discussion on the UN Report in the Human Rights Council.

The roundtable was held in continuation of OKC’s Kashmir Freedom and Human Rights campaign outside the United Nations near the famous broken chair in the UN Square. »

Srinagar, July 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, senior APHC leader and the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai has paid tribute to popular youth leader, Burhan Wani, and all those martyrs who lost their lives for demanding political birthright.

Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar on the eve of third martyrdom anniversary of Burhan Wani and other martyrs, said Burhan’s death infused a new spirit in the struggle for freedom and the people of Kashmir are steadfast to take the liberation movement to its logical conclusion. »

March towards Tral’ posters surfaced

Srinagar, July 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown will be observed to commemorate the third martyrdom anniversary of popular Kashmiri youth leader, Burhan Muzaffar Wani, tomorrow.

The shutdown is also aimed at paying tributes to Wani’s associates and other martyrs of 2016 mass uprising. Call for the strike has been given by the Joint Resistance Leadership. Burhan Wani was martyred by Indian troops in a fake encounter in Kokernag area of Islamabad district on July 08, 2016.

Meanwhile, thousands of posters have surfaced in every nook and corner of the valley asking people to ‘March Towards Tral’, tomorrow. The posters carrying pictures of Burhan Wani have been published by ‘Warseen-e-Shuhada’. These posters have been displayed at all important places including highways and streets in Srinagar, Budgam, Ganderbal, Kulgam and Islamabad districts. »

Srinagar, July 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian police, today, arrested senior Hurriyat leader, Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori and lodged him at Sadar Police Station, Sopore.

A huge contingent of Indian police raided the residence of 75 years old Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori and arrested him. »

The posters and banners on behalf of ‘Warseen-e-Shuhada’ (relatives of martyrs) have been displayed at all important places including highways and streets in Central, South and North Kashmir areas. Through these posters, the relatives of the martyrs have urged people to march towards Tral, the hometown of the martyred commander, tomorrow, to pay tributes to Burhan Wani, his associates and other martyrs of 2016 uprising. »

London, July 07 (KMS): Planes flew over the cricket ground at Headingley soon after the India-Sri Lanka cricket match in 2019 Cricket World Cup began, with banners reading “Justice for Kashmir” and “India stop genocide and free Kashmir”.

During the India-Sri Lanka match, an aircraft flew by with a balloon attached to it which read “Justice for Kashmir”.

A little while later, another plane flew by with the banner saying “India stop genocide and free Kashmir”.

Highway ban shows religious fanatic face of Indian rulers

Srinagar, July 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership remembering popular youth leader, Burhan Wani, his associates and other martyrs of 2016 mass uprising has called for complete shutdown on Monday, the 8th July.

Indian troops had martyred Burhan Wani in a fake encounter in Kokernag area of Islamabad district on 8th July in 2016.

The JRL in a statement issued in Srinagar paying rich tributes to all the Kashmiri martyrs particularly Burhan Wani appealed to the people of Tral and adjoining areas to pay homage to Burhan Wani. It also requested the people to pay tributes to every martyr in their vicinity and take pledge to carry the noble mission of the martyrs to its logical end. The JRL urged the world powers to look into the Kashmir dispute which has consumed more than half a million people and still continues to suck the blood of innocents on daily basis. It said the Kashmiris are striving for resolution of the Kashmir issue peacefully without any further bloodshed. »
