DFP terms attaching of Shah’s property political vendetta

Srinagar, March 30 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has said that seeking resolution of the Kashmir dispute is neither terror nor crime.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq addressing a gathering in Srinagar said that India should not criminalize the Kashmiris’ political aspirations which were rooted in history and principle of justice. He said that the Hurriyat leadership had always taken a realistic and principled stance and advocated dialogue among stakeholders to find an acceptable solution for all parties involved in the dispute and for friendship between Pakistan and India. He said that the Hurriyat leaders had always advocated and would continue to push for dialogue as it was the way forward.

The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front in a statement issued in Srinagar said that New Delhi should read writing on the wall that Kashmiris would not compromise on their fundamental rights including the right to self-determination. »

Srinagar, March 30 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the members of High Court Bar Association abstained from work, today, to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of noted Kashmiri human rights lawyer, Advocate Jaleel Andrabi.

The HCBA at the General Body meeting of its members criticized the authorities for disallowing it from holding a seminar titled “The Right to self-determination and Indian repression in Kashmir” at District Court Complex Batamaloo in Srinagar, today. The HCBA was scheduled to organize the event, today, but the authorities did not allow the same.

Srinagar, March 30 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a soldier of Indian Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was injured in a grenade attack in Pulwama, today.

Unidentified persons lobbed a grenade on a CRPF bunker in Pulwama town, leaving one soldier injured.

Soon after the incident, Indian troops and police personnel cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.

Srinagar, March 30 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has termed the attaching of house of its illegally detained Chairman, Shabbir Shah, by the India’s infamous investigating agency Enforcement Directorate (ED) as a sheer example of harassing his family.

The DFP in a statement issued in Srinagar said that New Delhi was continuously using its institutions to silence the Kashmiri people and harass its political opponents.

Reacting sharply to the ED order, it said the inhuman approach of New Delhi towards Shabbir Shah and other resistance leaders and activists is an ample proof that it is least bothered about the people of Kashmir and instead it is interested in the land only. To issue a notice of attachment of the house of Shabbir Shah is nothing but inhuman face of the so-called Indian democracy, it added. »

Srinagar, March 30 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, as reports claim that India’s Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached the property of illegally detained senior APHC leader, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, in Rawalpora area of Srinagar, the family of the incarcerated leader has said that they have not received any notice in this regard.

Shabbir Shah’s wife, Dr Bilquees Shah in a statement in Srinagar said that the property, which as per media reports had been attached, belonged to Shah but she was the real owner of the land.

“The land in Rawalpora was bought by my father in 1999 following which it was presented to me as a gift by my family in 2005,” she said adding, “The property belongs to me and not Shah.” »

New Delhi, March 30 (KMS): In order to victimize and harass the resistance leaders and activists in occupied Kashmir, the Indian government has formed a special group comprising top policemen and officers from intelligence, investigative, and tax agencies to take action against them and their sympathizers.

An official order issued by the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in this regard said, the group will have representatives from police, Intelligence Bureau, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), National Investigation Agency (NIA), and the income tax department. »

Srinagar, March 30 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has said that New Delhi should read writing on the wall that Kashmiris will not compromise on their rights.

A JKLF spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said India has set new heights of state terrorism against the people of Kashmir, who in pursuance of just freedom movement, are being targeted by the Indian forces’ personnel.

He strongly denounced the ongoing killing spree in the occupied territory. He appealed to the international community to rescue the Kashmiris and help in resolution of the lingering Kashmir dispute. He said that the people of Kashmir would continue their liberation movement till it reached its logical conclusion. »

Srinagar, March 30 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, an officer of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) committed suicide in Baramulla district, today.

A sub-Inspector of ITBP, Chandar Mani, ended his life by shooting himself with his service rifle at a camp in Kunzar area of the district. »

Srinagar, March 30 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops launched cordon and search operations in Islamabad and Shopian districts, today.

The troops have laid a siege around Tangpawa village in Kokernag area of Islamabad district and launched searches.

The troops also cordoned off Ganai Mohalla in Turkwangam area of Shopian and started a door-to-door search operation. »
