Srinagar, March 28 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, intense clashes between local youth and Indian forces erupted at Muran Chowk in Pulwama amid a spontaneous shutdown in Shopian and Pulwama districts against the latest killings by Indian troops in Shopian and Kupwara districts, today.

Three of the martyred youth identified as Sajjad Khanday, Aaqib Ahmad Dar and Basharat Ahmad Mir were residents of Pulwama district. Another youth was martyred in Langate area of Kupwara district. »

Srinagar, March 28 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a powerful blast damaged a house and a car near an Indian forces’ bunker in Srinagar.

The blast took place in Alochi Bagh area of the city. It was heard in far off areas.

A house and a parked vehicle were damaged in the explosion.

A local resident said that blast near the Indian army bunker was so powerful that windowpanes of several houses were damaged.

Washington, March 28 (KMS): A research conducted by the US-based fact tank, Pew research, has revealed that a majority of Indians, 55 per cent, see the situation in Kashmir as a very big problem.

The respondents have stated that more than 53 per cent people say circumstances in Kashmir have gotten worse over the last five years. »

Srinagar, March 28 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, people staged anti-India protest and blocked traffic on Srinagar-Jammu Highway near Bijbehara against the highhandedness of Indian forces in the area.

The troops thrashed locals in Bijbhera area on Thursday morning without any rhyme and reasons.

Immediately after the incident shouting pro-freedom and anti India slogans locals blocked the traffic on the highway. The blockade caused heavy jams on the Srinagar- Islamabad highway.

Passengers told media men that there was traffic jam on the highway for the past two hours.

Srinagar, March 28 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Human Rights Commission has asked the police chief and Principal Secretary Home to submit their reports on the killing of a teacher, Rizwan Asad, in police custody in Awantipora area of Pulwama district, last week.

The commission issued the notices barely a week after it first asked the police to furnish a report into Rizwan’s killing in police custody that sparked outrage across the occupied territory.

“Let in the first instance issue notice to principal secretary home and DGP submitting their report in the matter,” read the order issued by the commission. »

London, March 28 (KMS): A cross-party group of Members of the European Parliament via a letter addressed to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for a ban on the use of pellet guns on civilians in Indian occupied Kashmir.

Wajid Khan, a Labour Member of the European Parliament representing the North West of England, has authored the letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Wajid Khan has been championed the cause of Kashmir in the Parliament since his appointment two years ago. He secured the historic Kashmir hearing in the human rights committee in February. »

Residential house burnt by Indian forces in Kulgam

Srinagar, March 28 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred three youth in Shopian district, today.

The youth were killed by the troops during a cordon and search operation at Yarwan area of the district. The martyrs were identified as Sajad Khanday, Aqib Ahmad Dar and Basharat Ahmad Mir, all residents of Pulwama.

A police official talking to media men said that the soldiers of 23 PARA cordoned off Yarwan, Keller, a forest area on the tail end of the district and started a search operation at around 2:30am. An Indian official claimed to have killed three militants in Shopian district on Thursday. The operation was going on till filing of the report. »

Students stage protests against army

Srinagar, March 27 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani has appealed the international community to come to the rescue of helpless, caged and oppressed Kashmiri people who are relentlessly fighting for their inalienable right to self-determination.

The appeal has been made in a letter addressed to Ms Debbie Abrahams, the Chairperson of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Kashmir in the UK parliament. The letter was handed over by a Kashmiri activist, Mrs Shamim Shawl in a meeting convened by the chairperson in London. »
