Srinagar, March 27 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani has appealed the international community to come to the rescue of helpless, caged and oppressed Kashmiri people who are relentlessly fighting for their inalienable right to self-determination.

The appeal has been made in a letter addressed to Ms Debbie Abrahams, the Chairperson of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Kashmir in the UK parliament. The letter was handed over by a Kashmiri activist, Mrs Shamim Shawl in a meeting convened by the chairperson in London. »

Srinagar, March 27 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has paid glowing tributes to noted Kashmiri lawyer, Advocate Jaleel Ahmed Andrabi, on his martyrdom anniversary.

Advocate Jalil Andrabi was abducted by Major Avtar Singh of the 35th Rashtriya Rifles unit of the Indian Army in Srinagar on March 08, 1996. Three weeks later, his body was found floating in the Jhelum River. An autopsy showed that he was killed days after his arrest.

The JKLF held a condolence meeting in Srinagar, today, to mark the martyrdom anniversary of Jaleel Andrabi. During the meeting sacrifices of prominent Kashmiri martyrs including Ishfaq Majeed Wani, Shabbir Ahmed Sideequi and Doctor Abdul Ahad Guru were also recalled. »

Srinagar, March 27 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, unidentified gunmen killed a youth in Shopian district, today.

The gunmen after barging into a house killed one Tanveer Ahmed Dar at Kachdoora area of the district.

Indian troops and police personnel immediately rushed to the spot and launched a search operation in the area.

Beijing, March 27 (KMS): In order to consolidate Beijing’s claim on Arunachal Pradesh as its part, Chinese officials destroyed as many as 30,000 world maps showing the state as a part of India.

Acting on a tip off, customs officials of Qingdao city in Shandong province raided an office and seized more than 800 boxes containing 28,908 world maps.

“A total of 803 boxes of the 28,908 wrong maps were seized and destroyed, the largest amount to be disposed of in recent years,” the province’s Natural Resources Ministry said at a press conference, as quoted by the news website Dazhongwang Qingdao.

It was the largest such exercise in recent years and was reportedly carried out to protect China’s territorial integrity. The maps were in English and manufactured by a company in a Chinese province called, Anhui. Arunachal Pradesh is claimed by China as its part and depicted on its official maps as a part of south Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR). Beijing also considers Taiwan as a breakaway province to be eventually unified. »

Raise pro-Pakistan slogans in presence of Indian troops

Srinagar, March 27 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, students of Government Degree College Bandipora staged anti-India and pro-freedom protests in Bandipora town.

Hundreds of students of Degree College Bandipora including girls staged demonstrations against the presence of Indian troops during an event in the campus. They raised slogans “Go India go back”, “No election, no selection – we want freedom”, “Pakistan Zindabad”, “Jeevey jeevey Pakistan, “Huma Pakistani hen – Pakistan hamara Hey”. »

Troops use brute force on protesters in IOK
Srinagar, March 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani has said that India is strangulating every sane voice for fundamental right to self-determination through the barrel of gun and by the blunt sword of investigative agencies to make the militarized election drama a success in the territory.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar condemned the continued crackdown on pro-freedom leaders, activists and especially youth and said that the rhetoric of India being the world’s largest democracy was nothing but mere hoax and deceit. He maintained that India had opened the doors of prisons, interrogation centers and police stations on the Kashmiri people under the garb of election activities. Indian police arrested several youth in Sopore area of Baramulla district. »

Srinagar, March 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities have slapped for the second time the draconian Public Safety Act on Hurriyat leader and Islami Tanzeem-e-Azadi Chairman, Abdul Samad Inqilabi.

A spokesman of the Islami Tanzeem-e-Azadi in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Abdul Samad Inqilabi was arrested from a house of his martyred friend in Pulwama in December, last year. He said that the second PSA was slapped on the illegally detained leader, a day before the expiry of the first PSA.

The spokesman while strongly condemning the move said that the party chairman was suffering from multiple ailments at Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu. He said that the detained leader was deprived of medical facilities. He demanded shifting Abdul Samad Inqilabi from Jammu to Srinagar Central Jail.

Srinagar, March 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown is being observed in Bellow area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on the first martyrdom anniversary of a Kashmiri freedom activist, Shahbaz Ahmed Wani.

Wani was killed along with his associate, Farooq Ahmed Hura, by Indian troops during a cordon and search operation in Padgampora area of Awantipora in Pulwama on 26th March, last year.

All shops and other business establishments are closed in the area while traffic is off the road.

Meanwhile, people are visiting the residence of the martyr and his grave to offer Fateha.
