Srinagar, August 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has said that its illegally detained Chairman, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, has been kept along criminals in New Delhi’s infamous Tihar Jail and there is a threat to his life.

Shabbir Shah was sent to Tihar Jail on a 14-day judicial remand by a Delhi court on Wednesday. »

Moga (India), August 11 (KMS): The Sikhs representative organization, Dal Khalsa, has called upon the community to boycott Indian Independence Day celebrations and do not recite “Indian National Anthem” as according to the organization these verses do not represent the independent stature of the Sikh community.

Dal Khalsa spokesman, Kanwar Pal Singh addressing a press conference gave a call for boycott of celebrations as there was no reason for Sikhs to celebrate August 15, the India’s Independence Day. He said the Dal Khalsa declared that the independence of Punjab was the only solution for its people to protect their distinct identity, its natural resources, social-political interests, fulfill rightful aspirations and move forward without any outside domination and fear. »

Srinagar, August 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, India police arrested Hurriyat leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League (JKPL), Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, along with his party activists outside his residence at Kadipora in Islamabad town, today, and placed him under detention.

Mukhtar Ahmad Waza was scheduled to visit Martyrs’ Graveyard in Srinagar where he had to participate in a function in connection with the 9th martyrdom anniversary of prominent martyred Hurriyat leader, Sheikh Abdul Aziz. He was about to leave but a large contingent of police intercepted and arrested him. »

Jammu, August 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, common masses and activists of political and social organizations of Poonch staged a massive demonstration to protest against PDP-BJP regime’s attempts to fiddle with Articles 370 and 35A of the Indian Constitution.

At the protest held at Parade Ground Park Poonch, Maulana Hakeemuddin criticized the Indian authorities’ anti-Kashmir policies and said that the Kashmiri people would not accept any fiddling with the Articles concerning the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. »

Srinagar, August 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops and police personnel have launched massive checking of vehicles and frisking of people ahead of August 15, the Independence Day of India.

In Srinagar, police and CRPF personnel have erected barricades to carry out the search of vehicles.

Srinagar, August 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the members of Association of Parents of Disappeared Persons (APDP) staged a silent sit-in protest at Pratap Park in Srinagar demanding whereabouts of their family members who have been subjected to custodial disappearance by Indian police and troops during the past twenty eight years.

Demanding for the immediate action to trace their dear ones, the protesters said, “The lethargic attitude of authorities is responsible for long delay in tracing our beloved ones.” They also reiterated the demand for formation of an independent commission to trace the disappeared persons. »

Srinagar, August 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF) and Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA) have extended support to the strike call given by joint resistance leadership against India’s plans to abrogate Article 35A of Indian Constitution which confers special rights and privileges to permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir.

Srinagar, August 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) and other Hurriyat leaders have paid glowing tributes to four youth including a student Muhammad Younis who were martyred by Indian troops at Gulab Bagh in Tral area of Pulwama district on Wednesday.

The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar expressed deep concern over the use of indiscriminate force on peaceful protesters. “Our innocent youth are prime target of brutal Indian forces. The forces’ personnel are using unjustified force against peaceful people in the Kashmir Valley. Virtually the affairs of the territory are run by the occupational forces and rule of any law is virtually nowhere and non-existent,” he said. »
