Srinagar, October 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the illegally detained ailing Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League (JKPL), Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, has paid glowing tributes to the youth recently martyred by Indian troops in Hajin and Shopian.

Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, who has been lodged in Sadar Police Station in Islamabad town for last one week and suffering from various ailments, in a statement issued in Srinagar said that India should differentiate between terrorism and freedom movement. He said that Kashmir was an internationally-recognized dispute and could not be resolved through military might. »

Srinagar, October 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, members of a civil society group held a sit-in at Pratap Park in Srinagar against the increasing braid-chopping incidents.

The sit-in was held under the banner of Kashmir Centre for Social and Development Studies (KCSDS). The protestors carried placards that read “braid-chopping is shameful on the part of perpetrators”. »

Srinagar, October 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, people held protests in Wakura area of Ganderbal district after catching hold of two braid-choppers.

Locals told media that two men moving suspiciously in the area were caught by people and beaten to pulp. They said that both of them had tried to chop off the braid of a girl. “Some chopped hair were also recovered from their possession,” they said. »

Srinagar, October 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, clashes erupted in Sopore area of Baramulla district, today, after the braid of a 40-year-old woman was chopped off by unknown persons in Khushal Matoo village.

Locals told media that the woman was in the kitchen of her home when unknown person sprayed something on her, knocking her unconscious, and chopped her braid. She was later taken to sub-divisional hospital, Sopore, in an unconscious state. »

Srinagar, October 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League (JKML) has condemned the continued illegal detention of its Acting Chairman, Muhammad Yousuf Mir, and other leaders terming it as the worst kind of human rights violation and political vengeance.

The JKML spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the authorities had registered fake cases against Muhammad Yousuf Mir to prolong his illegal detention. He said that the Indian government and its stooges in the territory were using all cheap tactics to suppress the freedom sentiment of Kashmiris but they would never succeed in their nefarious designs. »

Tributes paid to youth martyred in Hajin and Shopian

Srinagar, October 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, has said that India has declared a war against innocent people of the territory while as international community instead of taking any serious note of this is acting as a mute spectator.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said that during the past several decades Kashmiris while nourishing their freedom movement and demanding their right to self-determination had presented huge sacrifices. He said that New Delhi with its military might brutally had killed thousands of Kashmiris and was carrying assault on women’s modesty and dignity in the territory. »

Shutdown observed in Shopian, Hajin against killing of youth

Srinagar, October 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the students of Kashmir University and Central University of Kashmir staged forceful demonstrations, today, against increasing braid-chopping incidents in the territory.

The Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik had asked the students to hold demonstrations, today, against the disgraceful incidents of chopping of braids of women particularly young girls. However, the puppet authorities had announced the closure of schools across the Kashmir Valley to prevent the protests. The resistance leaders have also called for protests across the territory after Friday prayers, tomorrow, against braid-cutting. »

Srinagar, October 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops have launched cordon and search operations (CASOs) in two areas of Baramulla and Bandipore districts.

The troops have cordoned off the Kralhar area of Baramulla district, causing huge inconvenience to the people.

The troops have also laid a siege around Ajas area of Bandipora district.

The resistance leaders in a statement issued in Srinagar said that braid-chopping incidents were increasing and spreading across occupied Kashmir, leading to great insecurity and fear among the people. “It looks like another ploy to frustrate the resilient and unyielding people of Kashmir,” they added.
