Srinagar, June 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has called for peaceful protest demonstrations on Friday against raids by India’s National Investigation Agency and brutalities of Indian troops in Shopian district.

The resistance leadership in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, said that NIA was being used to harass the genuine Kashmiri leadership, saying New Delhi was using NIA as a war weapon against leadership and business community. They condemned ransacking of properties during night raids in Shopian. They demanded immediate release of all political prisoners. »

Srinagar, June 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian Army personnel went on rampage in a village in Shopian district, this evening, injuring several people.

Residents of Narpora village of Shopian told mediamen that the army men ransacked houses and thrashed the people. They said that some children pelted few stones on an army patrolling party in the village. They said that soon after the incident army troops entered the village from all sides and started smashing whatever came in their way. »

Geneva, June 14 (KMS): Kashmiri leaders have said that India is committing war crimes in occupied Kashmir and demanded a probe by International Criminal Court against the Indian crimes against humanity in the territory.

Syed Faiz Naqshbanid, Shameem Shawl and Pervez Ahmad Shah while speaking at a seminar, held on the sidelines of 35th Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, cited the recent incident of tying a Kashmiri youth, Farooq Ahmad Dar, to an army jeep by Indian Major Gogoi Leetul as human shield in occupied Kashmir as a proof for initiation of a case against India’s civil and military leadership in International Criminal Court. The interactive dialogue on Use of Human Shield in Conflicts was organized by Association for Protection of Women and Children Rights. »

Protests in Kulgam against forces’ atrocities

Srinagar, June 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, many students were injured when Indian police used brute force on students who were protesting in Pulwama, today against the brutalities of Indian troops on the student community and common people across the territory.

Students of Government Degree College and Higher Secondary School took to the streets in Pulwama to press for the release of all illegally detained students arrested during the ongoing students’ agitation. »

Srinagar, June 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, protest demonstrations marked by complete shutdown, were held in Kulgam district against the highhandedness of Indian army and police.

The residents of Frisal area of district, today, staged protests against the ransacking of houses by Indian troops in the area without any provocation. Complete shutdown was observed against the forces’ action.

The residents took to the streets to protest against the smashing of windowpanes of houses and damage to vehicles parked on the roadside in the village.

Meanwhile, doctors stayed away from work at Government Medical College Srinagar in protest against the thrashing of a fellow doctor by police while he was on duty. The post-graduate students and resident doctors protested against the incident. The protesters said the doctor was seriously injured in the attack. The protesters demanded action against the policeman involved in the incident.

On the other hand, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leader form Islamabad district, Fayaz Ahmad Dar was booked under the draconian Public Safety Act (PSA) today, and was shifted to Kathua jail in Jammu. He was arrested yesterday in Bijbehara.

Srinagar, June 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik, has said that exemplary unity among the resistance leadership has unnerved Indian rulers and their stooges in the territory and they are desperately trying to break it.

Muhammad Yasin Malik said this while talking to reporters before his arrest by Indian police from his party office in Srinagar. He said that every peaceful political activity in occupied Kashmir had been banned by the so-called biggest democracy of the world and this suppression was taking extremely ugly turn as condolences meetings, social programs and even personal meetings between two people were being halted and barred by Indian police. »

Srinagar, June 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammat-e-Islami and High Court Bar Association have condemned the excesses by Indian troops on civilian population in Shopian district.

Jamaat-e-Islami in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “The vandalism was perpetrated by Indian forces against the civilians in Wehel and Turkawangam areas Shopian district without any justification”. »
