Srinagar, August 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, people in large numbers thronged Daril Payeen village in Tarathpora, Handwara, to offer condolences to the family of a student Shahid Bashir, who was recently killed by Indian troops in custody.

People across Kupwara offered special prayers for Shahid Bashir and his family while hundreds of people from nearby areas visited Daril Payeen graveyard to offer fateha on the grave of the martyred student. »

Srinagar, August 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the High Court has quashed detention order under draconian Public Safety Act (PSA) issued against three detainees, one of them Tahir Hussain Mir, a student of journalism at the Kashmir University in Srinagar.

Tahir Mir, 24, was arrested in September 2016 and was slapped with the draconian PSA – a law described as lawless law by the Amnesty International. »

Srinagar, August 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, has welcomed the US statement that India and Pakistan should engage in direct dialogue to reduce tension and resolve bilateral issues including the Kashmir dispute.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement in Srinagar said that American stand on Kashmir was a welcome move to reduce the nuclear threat in South Asia. “America (and) the civilized members of the UN should respect their commitments and the UN charter with respect to right to self-determination for all the disputed territories irrespective of colour, cast or creed,” he said. »

Srinagar, August 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, massive protests broke out in Nagbal area of Ganderbal district, today, after an Indian army vehicle deliberately hit and injured a woman.

Local told media that the army vehicle hit the 60-year-old woman, Ameena Begam, at Gretbal in Nagbal, resulting in her injuring critically. »

Srinagar, August 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, two Indian soldiers and a policeman have been killed and six others injured in an attack on district Police Lines in Pulwama.

Unknown attackers stormed the District Police Lines, Pulwama, where hundreds of Indian policemen and troops are stationed. Two Indian soldiers and a policeman have been killed while six others injured so far in the attack. Exchange of fire between the attackers and the Indian forces’ personnel is going on. »

Srinagar, August 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, people including lawyers held forceful demonstrations, today, against India’s plans to abrogate Article 35A of Indian Constitution and custodial killing of a student by Indian troops in Handwara. Indian forces’ personnel used brute force on the demonstrators, injuring many of them.

The joint resistance leadership held a protest march in Maisuma area of Srinagar against India’s attempts to scrap Article 35A to convert the Muslim majority of the territory into a minority. The protest was also aimed at registering protest against cold-blooded murder of the student, Shahid Bashir, by the troops. The protesters raised high-pitched pro-freedom and anti-India slogans. »
