Srinagar, August 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has said that the detainees at Kathua Jail in Jammu are stripped naked and subjected to extreme brutality by the jail staff even in presence of their family members and visitors.

The APHC in a statement issued in Srinagar expressed deep concern over the plight of prisoners lodged in different jails, saying that the situation in Kathua Jail is particularly extremely horrible. »

Srinagar, August 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders, condemning the recent killing of civilians by Indian troops in Pulwama district, have said that India is committing genocide of the Kashmiri people.

Srinagar, August 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown was observed, today, against the killing of three youth by Indian troops in Pulwama yesterday. Call for the strike was given by the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik.

The authorities had imposed curfew and other restrictions in Khanyar, Maharaj Gunj, Safakadal, Rainawari, Kralkhud, Nowhatta and Maisuma areas of Srinagar to prevent people from coming to the streets. »

Srinagar, August 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani has said that Indian authorities are kidnapping Hurriyat leaders and are lodging them at unknown locations in New Delhi. He termed it a sheer political vendetta.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar expressed deep concern over the kidnapping of ailing Hurriyat leaders, Peer Saifullah and Shahid-ul-Islam, saying that Indian authorities are reluctant to disclose their whereabouts. He said the authorities would be responsible if anything untoward happened to these leaders. »

Srinagar, August 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a youth who sustained serious bullet injuries in the firing of Indian troops on protesters in Pulwama, yesterday, succumbed at a hospital in Srinagar, today.

The 22-year-old, Akeel Ahmad Butt, was injured when the troops fired bullets and pellets on mourners at Hakripara in Pulwama, yesterday. He was shifted to District Hospital, Pulwama, in a critical condition from where he was referred to Soura Institute of Medical Sciences in Srinagar. However, he succumbed to his injuries early this morning. He was a resident of Gabarpora Haal area of Pulwama. »

Srinagar, August 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops, in their fresh act of state terrorism, martyred three more Kashmiri youth in Pulwama district, today. The protests triggered by the killings rocked many parts of the territory.

Charred bodies of two youth were recovered from the debris of two residential houses destroyed by the troops with a chemical substance during a crackdown operation at Hakripora in the district. One more youth, identified as Firdous Ahmad Khan, was killed and dozens others were injured after Indian forces fired bullets, pellets and teargas shells on protesters in Kakapora, Newa and Hakripora areas of the district. At least 15 injured were referred to hospitals in Pulwama and Srinagar. A paramedic was wounded when troops opened fire outside District Hospital Pulwama. »

Srinagar, August 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, patients face immense hardships and inconvenience at the outpatient department (OPD) in Agha Syed Yousuf Memorial (ASYM) District Hospital in Badgam as 26 kanals of the hospital land is under occupation of Indian army.

Long queues of patients are witnessed everyday at the OPD of the hospital while scores of patients lie on beds fixed in a narrow corridor, and scores more, accompanied by a family member, have nowhere to go. Outside each doctor’s chamber, patients and attendants are crunched into a small space. It is suffocating. The patients in the queues hardly find a place to sit. »
