Srinagar, June 19 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, on Sunday when Pakistan won ICC Champions Trophy after cutting India down to size by whopping 180 runs at the Oval in London, senior resistance leader, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was under house arrest.

Three days back the Mirwaiz had tweeted wishing “best of luck” to Pakistan. “As we were finishing taraweeh, could hear the fire crackers bursting, well played team #Paksitan. Best of luck for the finals!”, Mirwaiz wrote on micro-blogging site Twitter. That was when Pakistan won the semi-finals. »

Srinagar, June 19 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and other resistance leaders greeted Pakistani people and team for winning the Champions Trophy with a stunning defeat over India at Oval in London.

APHC Spokesman Ayaz Akbar quoting Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “We also congratulate Pakistan nation at this moment of celebration.”

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in his tweet said, “Fireworks all around, feel like an early Eid here. Better team took the day. Congratulations team Pakistan.” He also addressed hundreds of youth at his Nigeen residence on Pakistan victory. »

Srinagar, June 18 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, people burst firecrackers in Srinagar and other towns to express their joy as soon as Pakistan gave a thrashing defeat to India in ICC Champions Trophy at the Oval in England, tonight.

Mohammad Yousuf Naqash in a statement issued in Srinagar hailed the religious, social, and political contribution of Qazi Nisar and said that his services and sacrifices would always be remembered.

Indian propaganda against Kashmiris denounced

Srinagar, June 18 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown was observed across the territory, today, against the killing of six people by Indian troops at Arwani in Kulgam district.

Normal life was paralysed in Kulgam, Islamabad, Pulwama, Shopian and other districts of South Kashmir due to the strike. The roads wore a deserted look while commercial establishments were closed. Indian army and police were deployed in strength in entire South Kashmir and Khanyar, Rainawari, Nowhatta, Safakadal and Maharaj Gunj areas of Srinagar to prevent protests against the killings. The troops had killed six youth during a military operation at Arwani in Kulgam district on Friday.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani in a statement strongly rejected the propaganda of Indian media against the Kashmiri people. He said that Indian media was trying to portray that Hindu Yatris had some threat from Kashmiri people, which was not a fact. He maintained that Kashmiris were not fighting against followers of any religion but their aim was to secure their fundamental right to self-determination. »

Srinagar, June 18 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, An Indian army convoy came under attack on Srinagar-Jammu highway in Bijbehara area of Islamabad district, today.

The attackers fled after firing some shots at the convoy, media reports said.

There was no report of any injuries.

Traffic movement on the highway was affected following the attack.

Srinagar, June 18 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Ummat-e-Islami (UeI) has said that police used force to quell a rally of its Chairman Qazi Yasir in Islamabad town.

The UeI spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that strict restrictions had been imposed to prevent Qazi Yasir from reaching Jamia Masjid who had gone into hiding, however, he succeeded in reaching the mosque where he addressed a mammoth gathering. »
