Srinagar, October 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the upper reaches received first light snowfall of the season, resulting in chill in the plains, including Srinagar where people were seen wearing woolen and warm clothes.

The upper reaches including Sonmarg, Baltal, Naginsheeris, Amarnath Cave, Sheshnag, Mahaguns, Pisso Top and Panjterni received snowfall.

Light snowfall was also received at Zojila on Srinagar-Leh Highway, which connects Ladakh region with the Kashmir Valley.

Srinagar, October 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the illegally detained Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Muhammad Yasin Malik, has asked the puppet rulers to immediately stop attacks on Kashmiri women.

Muhammad Yasin Malik in a message from Srinagar Central Jail said, “If these ugly attacks are not halted immediately, these will have serious consequences and responsibility of anything untoward will lie on the shoulders of the rulers. “The speed with which these braid-cutting incidents are happening and the utter shameful attitude of rulers and their failure to identify or arrest culprits involved in attacks on women, is proving that something is fishy,” he said. »

Srinagar, October 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has expressed serious concern over the continued unlawful detention of its leaders and activists, demanding their immediate release.

An APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Hurriyat leaders, Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, Muhammad Shabaan Khan, Meraj-u-Din Naikoo, Yawar Muzaffar Ahmad, Bashir Ahmad, Arshad Ahmad Teli, Ghulam Nabi Gojri and Molvi Bashir Ahmad were under continuous detention for a long time. »

Srinagar, October 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the puppet authorities have shifted the illegally detained Hurriyat leader, Sarjan Barkati, popularly known as pied piper of South Kashmir, to Srinagar Central Jail again after keeping him at Police Station Heerpora in Shopian for 25 days.

Family members of Sarjan Barkati told mediamen that he was brought to Police Station Heerpora 25 days ago and the police had told them that he would be released in a week’s time. »

Srinagar, October 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, at least 350 cases of braid-chopping have been reported so far, officials have said.

Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Khan, while talking to media in Srinagar said that braid-chopping incidents were first reported in Jammu region where 250 cases came to fore. He said that later such incidents started occurring in the Kashmir Valley where so far around 100 such cases, mostly from south and central parts, had been reported. »

Protesters subjected to brute force

Srinagar, October 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, one civilian was killed and dozens other were injured after Indian troops used brute force on peaceful protesters in Pulwama district, today.

People took to the streets in Litter area of the district and started forceful demonstrations against the killing of two youth by the troops during a siege and search operation. »

Hurriyat leaders detained, Srinagar Jamia Majid sealed

Srinagar, October 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, people including women staged massive demonstrations across the territory, today, to protest against the incessant braid-chopping incidents. Several people were injured due to the use of brute force by Indian police and troops on protesters.

Call for the demonstrations was given by the Joint Resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik. The puppet authorities imposed restrictions in Srinagar and sealed Jamia Masjid on the third consecutive week, disallowing the Juma prayers at the historic mosque. The authorities also kept educational institutions closed on the second consecutive day, today. »
