HCBA seeks body to probe actual number of pellet victims

Srinagar, July 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the High Court has reserved its judgment on a fresh contempt petition against shifting of Hurriyat leader, Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo, from Srinagar central jail to Udhampur Jail in Jammu.

Advocate Mian Abdul Qayoom, who is also the President of High Court Bar Association, representing Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo, approached the court with a fresh contempt petition against the occupation authorities by arguing that the petitioner had been shifted to Udhampur Jail in contempt to the High Court, which in 2003 had directed the authorities to lodge the petitioner in Srinagar central jail. »

Indain army officer two injured in Shopian clash

Srinagar, July 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a teenage student of 11th class who suffered bullet injuries at the hands of Indian troops succumbed at a hospital in Srinagar, today.

The student youth, Ubaid Manzoor Lone, who sustained critical injuries during Indian forces’ firing in Nadihal, Sopore area of Baramulla district on June 25 died at Soura Institute of Medical Sciences in Srinagar after battling for life for 15 days. »

Protest in Srinagar against civilian killings

Srinagar, July 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops martyred another youth during their fresh act of state terrorism in Kupwara district, today.

The youth was killed during a cordon and search operation in Magam area of Handwara. Indian army claimed that the youth was killed during an encounter. However, locals refuted the claim and said that the youth was killed in cold blood.

A protest demonstration organized by the Joint Resistance Leadership was held in Srinagar, today, against the killing of civilians by the Indian troops in Kulgam district on Saturday. The resistance leaders who attended the protest included Hilal Ahmad War, Imtiaz Ahmad Shah, Nisar Hussain Rather, Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri, Umar Adil Dar, Master Abdur Rasheed, Muhammad Shafi Mir, Sheikh Abdur Rasheed and Imran Butt. The protesters assembled at Abi Guzar and tried to march towards Lal Chowk when a large posse of police intercepted them and detained many of them. Pro-freedom and anti-India slogans were raised on the occasion. »

Srinagar, July 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, resistance leaders and organizations have strongly condemned the arrest and shifting of Dukhtaran-e-Millat Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi and her associates, Fahmeeda Sofi and Nahida Nasreen to New Delhi by India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA).

The Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar said Kashmir has been turned into a killing field where the lives of men, women and even school going children are not safe. »

Srinagar, July 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leader Mushtaq-ul-Islam has condemned the detention of resistance leaders, terming it as extremely unwise to deny political space and muzzle the genuine voices.

Mushtaq-ul-Islam in a statement issued in Srinagar expressed serious concern over the fresh arrest spree, night raids on Hurriyat leaders and activists, harassment of peaceful civilians and humiliation during night raids and crackdowns. »

Srinagar, July 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, shutdown was observed in Bhadarwah, Banihal and other areas of Jammu region to commemorate the second martyrdom anniversary of popular youth leader Burhan Muzaffar Wani and killings of civilians by Indian troops in Kulgam.

The strike was observed on the call of Anjuman-e-Islamia Bhadarwah (AIB) to pay tribute to Burhan Wani and to protest the killings of three civilians in firing by Indian army in Kulgam district. »

Srinagar, July 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, two years have passed since the killing of charismatic youth leader Burhan Muzaffar Wani, and on every single day of these two years his family has been receiving guests, fifteen to twenty of them, from across the territory.

Burhan was martyred by the Indian troops in a fake encounter in Bemdoora area of Kokernag in Islamabad district on July 8, 2016. Kashmir valley remained shut for more than five months while more than hundred civilians were killed and thousands injured many with pellets protesting against his killing. »
