Srinagar, June 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, several students were injured when Indian police used brute force on protesting students in Pulwama town, today.

Students of Government Degree College and Higher Secondary School in Pulwama took to the streets and staged forceful demonstrations against the brutalities of Indian police and troops on the student community and common people across the territory. They demanded release of all illegally detained students arrested during the ongoing students’ agitation. »

Srinagar, June 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Awami Action Committee held a rally at Aaali Masjid in Srinagar to commemorate the 50th death anniversary of renowned Kashmiri politician and religious leader, Mirwaiz Maulana Yusuf Shah.

The Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq while addressing the rally paid rich tributes to Mirwaiz Yusuf Shah. He said that Mirwaiz Yousuf Shah was the vanguard of the people’s political movement who represented and supported their political will and aspirations in deciding their future destiny from 1928 to 1947 and later in exile. »

Srinagar, June 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, eight Indian CRPF troops were injured in a grenade attack in Pulwama district, today.

A police official said that the attack took place on the camp of 180 CRPF Battalion in Lariyar village in Tral. He said that eight personnel were injured in the attack. »

Srinagar, June 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyet leaders Abdullah Tari and Mukhtar Ahmad Waza while condemning brutalities unleashed by Indian forces have called for resolution of the Kashmir dispute as per Kashmiris’ aspirations.

A delegation of Democratic Freedom Party led by Abdullah Tari visited the residence of Gulzar Ahmad Wani at Tapar in Pattan and congratulated him on his release from jail after 16 years. A statement issued by the party office said that Abdullah Tari while commenting on the hardships faced by Wani’s family said it took Indian judiciary 16 years to admit that Gulzar was innocent. »

Srinagar, June 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, dozens of people were injured after Indian troops barged into their houses and ruthlessly beat whosever came in their way in Shopian district over celebrating Pakistan’s win against Sri Lanka in the ongoing Champions Trophy in England, last night.

As soon as Pakistan won against Sri Lanka, locals came out of their houses in Vehil and Turkwangam areas of the district and burst firecrackers to celebrate the win. Indian troops from a nearby camp rushed to the areas, forced their way into the houses, smashed windowpanes and beat the inmates. The critically injured were shifted to hospitals in Srinagar. The troops also ransacked shops and vandalized vehicles. This brutal action of Indian troops led to massive protests in Shopian. The protesters raised anti-India and pro-freedom slogans. »

Mukherji approached against Army’s human shield action

New Delhi, June 13 (KMS): Two human rights groups, People’s Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL) and Movement for Secular Democracy (MSD) including other activists, academicians and journalists from Ahmadabad have sent a memorandum to Indian President, Pranab Mukherjee, condemning the action of Indian Army of tying a Kashmiri to an army jeep as a human shield in occupied Kashmir.

The statement issued by PUCL and MSD said, “We, the concerned citizens of India, are shocked by the action of Major Gogoi of tying a Kashmiri artisan to the army jeep and parading him in villages in Jammu and Kashmir as a human shield … and statement by the Army Chief General Bipin Rawat defending and justifying his action and awarding a special award”. »
