Srinagar, August 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations have demanded immediate release of all Kashmiri political detainees languishing in jails of India and Kashmir before Eidul Adha.

Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement during a meeting in Srinagar said, said ““People irrespective of their age and gender continue to remain in various prisons and majority of them are without trial and deprived for the all basic facilities guaranteed under jail manual.” The meeting was presided over by JKSM Chairman, Zafar Akbar Butt. »

Srinagar, August 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the High Court Bar Association has condemned the thrashing of dozens of people by the Indian forces in Kulgam.

The Bar Association in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “We strongly condemn the beating of dozens of people by the forces, vandalizing their houses, smashing windowpanes and damaging their cars and tractors parked outside their houses and arrest of innocent youth including Fasil Bashir, Fasil Nazir and Muneeb Ahmad from village Bhan in District Kulgam during night hours.” »

Srinagar, August 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Dukhtaran-e-Millat has said that party Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi and her associate Fehmeeda Sofi will spend sixth consecutive Eid in Indian jail.

The DeM in a statement issued in Srinagar urged the people to celebrate the Eid as per the teachings of Islam and with austerity and remember the sacrifices of leaders and people including Aasiya Andrabi, Nahida Nasreen and Sofi Fehmeeda who are languishing in Tihar jail, India. »

Srinagar, August 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred two more youth in Baramulla district.

The youth were killed during a siege and search operation in Kasturi Naar in Uri area of the district. One youth was killed on Sunday by Indian troops in the same area, raising the toll to three in less than twenty-four hours. »

Srinagar, August 19 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, today, was elected by majority votes the chairman of the Tehrek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir for next three years.

Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai bagged 410 out of 433 total votes cast during the election held at the Srinagar office last week. Nearly 100 party members were present when the votes were counted, today. »

Use of force on students, arrests denounced

Srinagar, August 19 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred one more youth in Baramulla district raising the toll to four in the past twenty-four hours in the territory.

The troops martyred a youth during a cordon and search operation at Kasturi Naar in Baramulla district, today. Three youth were killed by the troops in Tangdhar area of Kupwara district, yesterday. The troops arrested around a dozen people during raids at Tujjar in Sopore. In another incident, an Indian soldier was killed in a landmine explosion in Kupwara district.

A woman, who fell unconscious out of harassment during the raid on her house by Indian troops at Nikas Aarbal in Pulwama district, died in a hospital. Her daughter had also fainted during the raid. »

Civil society vows to protect Article at any cost

Srinagar, August 19 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir United Peace Movement during a one-day seminar on Article 35A and Article 370 of Indian constitution in Jammu has demanded protection of the Article 35-A in letter and spirit, which guarantees special status to people of Jammu and Kashmir.

A resolution passed during the seminar says, “The sovereign guarantee and protection given under Article 35-A Constitution of India shall be remained intact in letter and spirit as being applicable to the State of Jammu and Kashmir.” »

Over dozen youth arrested during CASO in Baramulla

Srinagar, August 19 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Indian forces in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred one youth in Baramulla district raising the toll to four in the past twenty-four hours in the territory.

The troops martyred the youth during a cordon and search operation at Kasturi Naar in Baramulla district, today.

Three other youth were killed by the troops in Tangdhar area of in Kupwara district, yesterday.

Director General Police (DGP) S P Vaid also confirmed the killing of the youth. »

Srinagar, August 19 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Employees Joint Action Committee has said that the employees are a part and parcel of the society and is determined to stand by the people of Kashmir in difficult times.

This resolve was expressed at an emergency meeting of Employees Joint Action Committee in Srinagar under the chair of Abdul Qayoom Wani.

Addressing the meeting EJAC President Abdul Qayoom Wani said that tempering with Article 35A would be treated onslaught on the emotions, aspirations and interests of people of Jammu and Kashmir. »
