Modi govt’s betrayal of IIOJK continues, Congress slams Delhi’s power grab
New Delhi: The Congress has said that the Narendra Modi government is continuing to betray occupied Jammu and Kashmir, stating that the New Delhi’s decision to vest more powers in the Lieutenant Governor is another example of Constitution Murder Day under its rule.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge stated that the move has two implications: delaying the restoration of full statehood to occupied Jammu and Kashmir or keeping the newly elected IIOJK government at the mercy of the LG.
Kharge termed it a “betrayal” of Jammu and Kashmir, and Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh expressed that full-fledged statehood for Jammu and Kashmir seems unlikely in the immediate future.
