Traders observing shutdown in Pattan today
Srinagar: The Traders Union Pattan is observing complete shutdown in the town today to protest against the transfer of popular and people friendly local police officer, Inspector Khalid Fayaz, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Police Station Pattan in Baramulla district.
According to Kashmir Media Service, all traders and shopkeepers have kept their establishments closed, except for medical shops, to register their protest against the sudden transfer of the popular police officer. The shutdown is expected to affect daily life and business activities in Pattan.
The traders union has described Inspector Fayaz as “people-friendly” and expressed their dissatisfaction with the decision.
The union’s president, Nasir Shah, made an audio announcement urging traders to join the protest. “We request all traders and shopkeepers to keep their shops closed to protest against the transfer of Inspector Khalid Fayaz,” he said.
The shutdown is a demonstration of the traders’ union discontent with the Modi regime’s decision, which they believe will affect the law and order situation in Pattan.
