Islamabad: Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has transformed into an “apartheid state,” where Muslims and other religious minorities are relegated to second-class citizenship.
According to Kashmir Media Service, critics assert that the BJP-led Indian government’s right-wing policies, rooted in a Hindutva agenda, are progressively eroding the country’s democratic foundations. They argue that dissent is systematically stifled, leaving little room for political opposition.
In Modi’s India, religious minorities face severe repression, while the media operates in an atmosphere of intimidation, making it increasingly difficult for journalists to report freely.
In the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Modi regime’s claims of upholding democracy starkly contrast with the realities of declining civil liberties. Human rights organizations have documented extensive abuses and a blatant disregard for democratic norms in the occupied territory.
Critics warn that Modi’s arrogance is steering India toward autocratic rule as the government intensifies efforts to establish a “Hindu Rashtra.” This ideology risks excluding millions of citizens who do not conform to the Hindu majority, further deepening societal divisions.
As these pressing issues attract international scrutiny, calls for global intervention are mounting. Human rights advocates urge the international community to act decisively to prevent the Modi regime from implementing apartheid-like policies, emphasizing the urgent need to safeguard democratic values in India.
