Indian police constable shoots Sub-Inspector in Manipurc
Imphal: An Indian police constable has killed a Sub-Inspector in violence-hit Manipur state of India.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the police constable fatally shot his colleague sub-inspector, identified as Md.Shahjahan, during a routine deployment in Mongbung village in Jiribam district as the area is currently under heightened security due to ongoing violence in the region.
According to preliminary reports, the police constable fired a shot from his service rifle, hitting the Sub-Inspector.
The deceased Sub-Inspector, Md. Shahjahan, a resident of Yairipok Tulihal, posted at Jiribam Police Station.
The accused police constable was identified as Akoijam Bikram Singh of Naharup Pangong Makhong.
The police constable, Akoijam Bikram Singh, has been arrested to ascertain the facts surrounding the shooting and to take appropriate action.
