India urged to allow UN observers, human rights bodies to visit IIOJK

#MilitarizedNormalcyInIIOJK

Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has strongly condemned the Modi-led Indian regime’s claims of normalcy in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, in a statement issued in Srinagar, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas argued that the Modi regime has enforced a “militarized normalcy” in the territory through its massive military presence and repressive measures.

Minhas pointed out that the Indian government’s claims of peace and normalcy are belied by the daily occurrences of cordon-and-search operations (CASOs), crackdowns, raids, and arbitrary arrests. He emphasized that the Indian troops have turned the occupied territory into an open jail, where basic human rights are abused on a daily basis.

The APHC spokesman also accused the Modi regime of trying to distort the truth and twist facts to promote its false narrative on Kashmir. He cited the illegal detentions and the slapping of draconian laws on rights activists as evidence of India’s attempts to suppress the Kashmiri people’s struggle for self-determination.

Minhas reiterated that peace will continue to elude Kashmir and South Asia until the Kashmiri people are granted their inalienable right to self-determination. He demanded that India allow UN observers and global human rights bodies to visit IIOJK to assess the ground situation
