Pakistanis, Kashmiris stand united: Massive rally and ceremony held in Jhelum Valley

Muzaffarabad: A massive rally and a dignified ceremony were held in Jhelum Valley’s Chakothi district, near the Line of Control (LoC) in Azad Jammu and Kashmir in connection with Kashmir Solidarity Day.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the events were organized under the banner of Tehreek-e-Jawanan-e-Kashmir and Pakistan Zindabad Basic Organization.

A large number of Kashmiris, including political and social leaders, teachers, and schoolchildren, participated in the rally. Amid high-pitched pro-freedom slogans, demonstrators voiced their unwavering commitment to the Kashmir freedom movement while strongly condemning Indian occupation.

Following the rally, a ceremony was held, where Sardar Ajmal Mughal, President of Tehreek-e-Jawanan-e-Kashmir, was the chief guest, and Asim Bashir, leader of Pakistan Zindabad Basic Organization, presided over the event.

Addressing the gathering, Sardar Ajmal Mughal reaffirmed that Pakistanis and Kashmiris worldwide had commemorated Kashmir Solidarity Day with great enthusiasm, sending a clear message to the world that the oppressed people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) are not alone in their struggle against Indian tyranny. He expressed hope that Kashmiris would achieve their long-awaited freedom as despite relentless oppression India has failed to crush the unyielding spirit of the Kashmiri people.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Raja Zahid Khan, Chief Organizer of Tehreek-e-Jawanan-e-Kashmir, Pakistan Zindabad Basic Organization leader Asim Bashir, and other speakers emphasized that Tehreek-e-Jawanan-e-Kashmir’s presence at the LoC was a bold statement of solidarity—a clear signal that they stand shoulder to shoulder with their Kashmiri brethren in the struggle for freedom. They called upon the international community to hold India accountable and pressure New Delhi into honoring its commitments under United Nations resolutions, granting Kashmiris their right to self-determination.

Dr. Tehniyat Iqbal Awan (President, Tehreek-e-Jawanan-e-Kashmir Women’s Wing), Divisional President Sardar Tariq Mehmood Janjua, Yasir Shafiq Awan, Aqib Rehman Awan, Ghulam Nabi Shah, Zeeshan Haider, and Momina Parvaiz, also addressed the ceremony.

The event concluded with schoolchildren performing emotional tableaus in honor of the martyrs of the Kashmir freedom movement, paying a heartfelt tribute to those who have sacrificed their lives for the cause of liberation.
