Indian cop injured in accidental firing during Amarnath Yatra duty
Srinagar: An Indian policeman, deployed for Amarnath Yatra duty, was injured in an accidental fire at Pahalgam area of Islamabad district in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, an official said the incident occurred when a service rifle of a cop misfired at Mini Line in Pahalgam leading to injury.
“The injured cop has been identified as Constable (SgCt) Shabir Ahmad. He was part of the Quick Response Team (QRT) deployed at Mini Line for Yatra security when his rifle went off accidentally,” the official said.
Shabir Ahmad sustained bullet injuries in his left foot and was immediately shifted to Primary Health Centre, Pahalgam, for treatment.
