One dies, 6 others injured in Doda road accident

Bodies of three missing persons found in Kathua

Jammu: One person died, while six others were injured after their vehicle met with an accident in the Doda district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the accident occurred near the Fafri area of the district when a passenger vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge. The deceased has been identified as Nazim Butt, a resident of Massri Ghundna.

Officials said that all the other injured have been shifted to GMC Doda for treatment.

Meanwhile, the bodies of three missing persons were located through drones at a waterfall in the higher reaches of Kathua district. The trio was reported missing on March 5 while returning from a marriage function in Billawar tehsil, the officials said.

They added that a massive operation was launched by authorities to trace the missing persons, one of whom had contacted his family two days ago, saying they had lost their way in the forest while returning. Efforts are underway to retrieve the bodies, the officials said, adding that the cause of death would be determined after the postmortem.
