Srinagar: APHC vice chairman Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar has said that martyred youth leader Burhan Muzaffar Wani is an iconic leader and a symbol of resilience against India’s illegal occupation of and a torchbearer of Kashmir’s freedom movement.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar in a message on the eve of the martyrdom anniversary of Burhan Wani said, the youth leader was the symbol of fear for the enemy and a hero of the Kashmiri people. “The life, struggle, sacrifice, courage, and steadfastness of this young shining star are a role model for Kashmir youth who are fighting for the liberation of their motherland from foreign occupation.”
Gulzar while paying glowing tributes to the martyred youth leader and other martyrs of the freedom movement said that Kashmiris are indebted to those sacred souls who sacrificed their precious lives for our future. He said that the supreme sacrifices of martyrs will never go to waste, and today Kashmir renews the pledge that the mission of martyrs will be accomplished at all costs. He said the best way to pay tribute to martyrs is to complete their great mission for which they laid down their lives.
APHC vice chairman appealed to the Kashmiris living across the Line of Control, in Pakistan and abroad to hold rallies, seminars, and arrange other programs to pay homage to Burhan Wani and other martyrs of the freedom movement and invite attention towards the genocidal campaign of Kashmiris by Indian occupation forces in Kashmir.
Burhan Wani was a social media warrior who educated Kashmiri youth through the use of social media.
Gulzar said killing of Kashmiri youth, cripple them physically and mentally through brutal torture, arrest and rot them in jails for years on concocted charges have become a routine. He said that India, on one pretext or the other, is eliminating Kashmiri youth according to a well-thought-out plan. It is a systematic genocidal campaign which is aimed at annihilating Kashmiris and grabbing their land.
Gulzar vowed to carry forward the martyr’s mission and said that a nation that has been giving birth to brave sons like Burhan Wani cannot be defeated by military might and false propaganda. He said that today, when our existence, our identity, religion, land, resources, honor, dignity, and everything is at stake, we must join hands, chalk out a joint strategy, and put our collective efforts to foil Indian cultural aggression and deceitful occupation before it is too late.
APHC vice chairman expressed serious concern over the plight of Kashmiri political prisoners languishing in notorious jails of Kashmir and India. He said that these detainees are not only tortured but also deprived of all basic facilities, including necessary medical aid. He appealed to the UN, OIC, and international human rights organizations to play their role in the release of political prisoners and stop human rights violations in the disputed territory. He reiterated that no peace in the region is possible without a just and durable solution to the long-standing Kashmir dispute, according to UN resolutions and aspirations of Kashmiri people.
