U.S. delivers three Apache helicopters to Indian Army

New Delhi: The U.S. aerospace company Boeing has delivered three AH-64E Apache helicopters to the Indian Army as part of a contract for six helicopters.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian officials confirmed the delivery and stated that the remaining helicopters will be handed over in phases. The AH-64E Apache is one of the most advanced multi-role combat helicopters in the world and is also used by the U.S. Army.
In a social media post, the Indian Army said these state-of-the-art platforms will significantly enhance its operational capabilities.
Boeing had earlier completed the delivery of 22 Apache helicopters to the Indian Air Force in 2020. The deal for the Indian Army’s six Apaches was signed afterward, with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2024.
India originally signed a multi-billion dollar agreement with the U.S. government and Boeing in September 2015 for 22 Apaches for the Air Force, with the Army contract following later.
