Washington: US State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce has said that President Donald Trump has offered to mediate the Kashmir dispute while confirming a high-level meeting with a senior Pakistani leader is scheduled for Friday.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Tammy Bruce made these remarks during a press briefing in Washington in response to a question regarding escalating tensions between Pakistan and India. She was asked whether President Trump had instructed Secretary of State Marco Rubio to facilitate dialogue between the two South Asian nations, and whether he had already extended a mediation offer on the Kashmir issue.
In her response, the State Department spokesperson reiterated that the upcoming meeting will include in-depth deliberations on all critical matters, particularly regional security, bilateral ties, and pressing international concerns, with the Kashmir issue being a central focus.
Tammy Bruce said the United States is well aware of how to move forward on issues between Pakistan and India. She added that President Trump is keenly looking forward to the meeting and confirmed that she herself would also participate in the discussion.
She emphasized that conflicts are not resolved through statements or conferences but through persistent diplomatic engagement. She expressed optimism that the time will come when the international community will focus not on conflict but on rebuilding war-torn regions like Gaza and fostering long-term peace.
