Indian MP confirms Rafale Jet downed during India-Pakistan war
New Delhi: Indian Member of Parliament Amrinder Singh Raja has confirmed the crash of a Rafale fighter jet during the India-Pakistan war, revealing a development that India has so far denied despite multiple international confirmations.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Amrinder Singh Raja stated that a part of a fighter jet, specifically a tail section marked with “BS-001” was found near the Bassi Pathana Air Force Station in Punjab. He confirmed that the wreckage belonged to a Rafale aircraft. The incident reportedly resulted in one fatality and left nine others injured.
Raja further disclosed that the Indian Air Marshal had also acknowledged the crash but referred to the debris as part of an “unidentified aircraft,” which the MP criticized as an attempt to withhold the truth from the Indian public.
He accused the Indian Air Force of misleading the nation by denying the identity of the wreckage and downplaying the loss. The MP’s remarks have reignited debates over the extent of damage India suffered during its conflict with Pakistan.
It is worth noting that Pakistan had previously claimed to have downed Indian fighter jets during the war, including French-made Rafale aircraft. While independent reports and international agencies, including sources in France, had verified the loss, the Indian government has consistently denied any such incident involving its Rafale fleet.
