Maulana Waseem Reza condemns Indian media attack on Ayatollah Khamenei

Qom (Iran): Kashmiri religious scholar, researcher, and journalist Maulana Waseem Reza Qomi has strongly condemned the Indian media propaganda targeting Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei, meant to alienate the public from the authentic leadership.

According to Kashmir Media Service, in a statement issued from Qom, Iran, Maulana Waseem Reza characterized such acts as “deliberate and calculated psychological warfare” aimed at attacking the religious sentiments and revered figures of the Muslim world. He emphasized that these efforts reflect the desperation of global adversaries in the wake of Iran’s recent military engagement with Israel. He called it part of a Zionist conspiracy. “This blasphemous media content aired by certain Indian media outlets is not journalism, it’s propaganda meant to alienate the public from the authentic leadership,” he stated.

Maulana Qomi underscored, “Disrespecting the Supreme Leader is not a mere act of political dissent but a deeper assault on the values and collective spiritual conscience of the Muslim world.” “Let it be clear: any insult to the Supreme Leader or the religious leadership is not a personal affront it’s an ideological attack on the Ummah’s identity and leadership”, he asserted. “Attempts to vilify Ayatollah Khamenei only strengthen our unity and resolve”.

The Kashmiri scholar further pointed out that even critics of Iran have, at times, conceded the moral authority and personal integrity of Ayatollah Khamenei. “The media’s current attempts to malign him will not erase this truth”, he said, criticizing the deliberate distortion of facts within journalism. “Journalism is meant to inform and elevate public consciousness, not insult sacred figures or inflame sectarianism,” Maulana Qomi continued.

Maulana Qomi warned that under the guise of free speech, certain Indian media platforms are increasingly being used to stoke division and propagate hate speech. He called for accountability and demanded a formal apology from the outlets responsible, urging them to respect religious boundaries in public discourse.

Finally, Maulana Qomi appealed to the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir to remain united and uphold interfaith harmony despite the ongoing provocations. He reiterated that the integrity and leadership of Ayatollah Khamenei are beyond doubt—even acknowledged by his critics.
