According to Kashmir Media Service, Ashraf was assaulted during a cricket tournament in Kudupu near Mangaluru after being accused of shouting “Pakistan Zindabad.” Initially, police registered the case as an “unnatural death,” claiming he fell while intoxicated.

However, the autopsy results, completed on July 15, revealed that his death was due to the combined impact of multiple injuries. The report stated: “All injuries are fresh, antemortem, and caused by blunt force impact.”

Forensic expert Dr K. S. Rashmi confirmed that the nature of the injuries was consistent with blows from the objects examined.
