Bandipora court acquits APHC leader Agha Hassan in decades-old case

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, a court has acquitted senior All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) leader and President of Anjuman Sharie Shian, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safavi, in an old fabricated case.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the case was filed in 2010 at Sumbal Police Station in Bandipora district. Advocate Agha Syed Muntazir Mehdi, Agha Hassan’s lawyer, confirmed that his client was honorably acquitted of all charges. He said that after years of prolonged legal proceedings, the court ruled the case invalid due to the lapse of the prescribed period.

A spokesperson for Anjuman Sharie Shian said the verdict proves that cases against Agha Syed Hassan were repeatedly filed on government directives, but today’s decision marks a triumph for justice.
