IIT Indian student found dead in hostel room in Kanpur
Kanpur: A 21-year-old student of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) was found dead in Kanpur city of Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled Uttar Pradesh state of India.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Dheeraj Saini, a final-year BTech student of electrical engineering, hailed from Haryana state, was found dead in his hostel room of the city after other students reported a foul smell, the police said.
When the deceased did not step out of his room, other students alerted authorities about a foul smell emanating from his locked room on Wednesday
A police team broke open the door and found Saini’s body hanging from the ceiling fan with a rope, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Kalyanpur) Ranjeet Kumar said. No suicide note was found, the police added.
In another same suicide incident , a 20-year-old NEET aspirant from New Delhi was found hanging in his paying guest room in Kota in Rajasthan state, the Indian police said.
Meanwhile, another student from Bihar, living in an adjoining room in his PG room located in Sector-2 under the Vigyan Nagar police station limits in Rajasthan’s Kota city, was found hanging from a ceiling fan.
Police said he was preparing for NEET online and had been living in Kota for the past two years.
Circle Inspector Mukesh Meena said the room was bolted from the inside. “We have found no sign of foul play at this stage,” he said. K
