Indian troops continue massive search operations in IIOJK

Srinagar: Indian troops continued massive cordon and search operations in different areas of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, subjecting local populations to severe harassment and restrictions.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the operations are underway in Rajouri, Udhampur, Kishtwar and Islamabad districts, where Indian forces have deployed heavy contingents and sealed several villages.

Earlier, a Special Operations Group camp came under attack in the Beeranthub area under Kandi Police Station in Rajouri on Tuesday evening. Soon after the incident, troops cordoned off the entire Mandir Gala, Beeranthub, Panjnara, and Sakri belts and launched house-to-house searches. Operations have also been extended to the Pir Panjal mountain range, where forces are conducting operations using drones and sniffer dogs.

Residents in several localities have reported frequent frisking, night raids, and disruption of movement, as the Indian forces continue to tighten their grip under the guise of “counter-insurgency” operations.
