Mirwaiz hails ceasefire in Gaza
Srinagar: Senior leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has hailed ceasefire in Gaza and welcomed the truce as a long-awaited relief for Palestinians.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a post on X urged that true peace can only prevail when their rights, dignity, and homeland are restored
He described the ceasefire in Gaza as a much-needed relief for the suffering Palestinian people after months of “slaughter, starvation, and genocide” committed by Israel.
Mirwaiz wrote that although the so-called “peace deal” remains unfair and one-sided, it is hoped that the ceasefire will hold and become a genuine step toward lasting peace and justice in the region.
He further said as hostages return home, Palestinians too deserve secure homes, dignity, and freedom from occupation. “True peace,” Mirwaiz said, “will only prevail when the rights of the Palestinian people are upheld and their homeland restored.”
