Wangchuk deeply concerned about Ladakh, says counsel Mustafa Haji

Leh: Mustafa Haji, counsel of Ladakh-based renowned climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, has said that Wangchuk is mentally and physically strong but deeply concerned about Ladakh, Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Advocate Mustafa Haji in an interview said the climate activist, currently lodged in Jodhpur Central Jail, under the draconian National Security Act (NSA), said he stands firmly with the Apex Body, the Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA), and the people of Ladakh in in their genuine constitutional demand for Sixth Schedule and Statehood.

The counsel said Wangchuk urged the Leh Apex Body (LAB), Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) and other organisations to carry on their struggle for their constitutional rights and whatever actions they take in the interest of Ladakh, he will be with them wholeheartedly.

The counsel said that Wangchuk also demanded an independent judicial inquiry into the killing of four civilians during protests in Leh on September 24.

He also urged the people to maintain unity and stressed that the ongoing movement must continue peacefully.
