Indian forces launch CASO in IIOJK’s Poonch

Jammu: Indian forces have launched a massive cordon and search operation (CASO) in Poonch district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
According to Kashmir Media Service, personnel from the Indian army, paramilitary forces and police initated the operation in several villages located in the dense forests of Bhata Dhurian in the Mendhar area of the district.
Indian officials claimed that the operation was launched following reports of suspicious movement in the area. However, such operations are routine in IIOJK, frequently carried out under various pretexts. In reality, these operations have long been a tool of collective punishment for the local population.
During these military crackdowns, residents are subjected to harassment, with their valuables looted by the occupation forces. In many instances, youths are summoned to nearby military camps and police stations, where they endure intense interrogation. The main objective of these operations is to weaken the resolve of the Kashmiri people in their legitimate struggle for the UN-recognized right to self-determination.
