20 dead as Hyderabad-bound private bus catches fire
Hyderabad, India: At least 20 people died after a Bengaluru-bound private bus caught fire and turned into ashes after hitting a bike in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool in the early hours today.
According to Kashmir Media Service, a luxury bus, traveling from Hyderabad to Bengaluru, was engulfed in flames after it collided with a two-wheeler on the highway. The impact sparked a major fire, destroying the bus.
The bus door got jammed due to a short circuit and the vehicle was completely gutted within minutes.
There were 41 people on board, along with the two drivers. The two-wheeler rider also died in the accident.
Most survivors were aged between 25 and 35 years, police further said.
