Peace cannot be achieved through power and oppression: Mirwaiz

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, senior All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has emphasized that the injustices and suffering the world is currently witnessing demonstrate that peace can never be brought about through power and oppression.
According to Kashmir Media Service, speaking at a public gathering at the shrine of Sheikh-ul-Alam Hazrat Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Noorani (RA) in the Charar-e-Sharief area of Budgam district, Mirwaiz noted that true peace and lasting stability can only be achieved through justice, mutual respect, and meaningful dialogue.
He stressed that the leadership of South Asia must exhibit wisdom and adopt the path of dialogue, peace, and justice, as only this approach can lead to sustainable peace in the region.
Mirwaiz further highlighted that the profound wisdom and spiritual guidance of the great Sufi saint Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Noorani (RA) have deeply influenced and inspired generations of Kashmiris.
He remarked that it is indeed Allah’s favor upon any land when such enlightened souls are born among its people — those who transform societies for the better, both spiritually and morally. “Kashmir has been deeply blessed,” Mirwaiz said, “It is on this blessed land that such saints and sages have walked, guiding people toward the light of truth.”
Reflecting on present times, Mirwaiz said that when humanity is surrounded by confusion, division, and conflict, it becomes all the more vital to reconnect with our roots and the core values that our saints embodied, which include simplicity, equality, compassion, and non-violence.
He called on the youth to reconnect with these noble traditions left to us by our Sufi saints. In a world dominated by power and oppression, Mirwaiz emphasized that the path shown by these spiritual leaders reminds us that true strength lies not in dominance, but in truth, humility, and serving humanity.
