Traffic halted after suspicious object found on Srinagar–Bandipora Road

Srinagar: Traffic movement on the Srinagar–Bandipora road was suspended after a suspicious object was found in Bandipora district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the alert was raised near a road stretch close to the premises of the 45 Battalion CRPF and Police Post Ajas after Indian forces, during a search operation, detected a suspicious object near the Chimpazpora area of Ajas in the district.
Officials said the object, initially suspected to be an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), was spotted by patrolling personnel during a routine area inspection. Following the discovery, the area was immediately cordoned off, and traffic on the highway was halted as a precautionary measure to ensure public safety.
A Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) of the forces was rushed to the spot to examine the object. After a thorough inspection, the teams confirmed that no explosive material or IED was found and that the object was harmless.
