Anti-India demonstrations held in Muzaffarabad, other parts of AJK

Protesters submit memo to UNMOGIP, urge UN to act on Kashmir

Muzaffarabad, :Anti-India protest demonstrations were held in Muzaffarabad and other areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir including Mirpur, Kotli, Bagh, Bhimber and Rawalakot, on the occasion of Black Day, today.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the main protest demonstration was organized by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter from Burhan Chowk to the DC Office, Muzaffarabad.

Senior APHC-AJK leader Ghulam Muhammad Safi led the rally, which was attended by hundreds of people including Dr Mushtaq Ahmed, Showket Javeed Mir of the People’s Party, Altaf Hussain Wani, Raja Sajjad, Zahid Ashraf, Zahid Safi, Gulshan Iqbal, Mushtaq-ul-Islam and others. During the demonstration, participants raised high-pitched slogans of “Go India Back”, “End Indian Occupation”, “We Want Freedom” and “Pakistan Zindabad”.

 

At the end of the event, a memorandum was submitted to the UN Military Observer Group, condemning Indian state terrorism in the occupied territory and demanding the implementation of UN resolutions. The speakers urged the UN to fulfill its duty by ensuring the settlement of the Kashmir dispute as per its pending resolutions.

In Mirpur, senior APHC leader Mehmood Ahmed Saghar and Malik Aslam, along with other leaders and a large number of people, led an anti-India protest rally and urged the United Nations to fulfill its promises of holding a plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir to enable the Kashmiris to exercise their right to self-determination.

In Kotli, the APHC leader Manzoor Ahmed Shah, Zahid Mujtaba and Qazi Imran Arif led the rally holding the black flags expressed solidarity with the oppressed people of occupied Kashmir. They also raised slogans against India and in favour of Kashmir’s freedom from Indian yoke. The other anti-India and pro-freedom rallies were held in Rawalkote, Bamber, and other areas of Azad Kashmir demanded Indian forces withdrawal from IIOJK and freedom from Indian occupation.

In Bagh, senior APHC leader Syed Yousuf Naseem led a protest demonstration where participants raised high-pitched anti-India and pro-freedom slogans. The protesters reiterated their resolve to continue the freedom struggle till complete success. Religious, political and social figur es, along with a large number of local residents, joined the protest.
