Speakers highlight historical, political & humanitarian aspects of Kashmir dispute
Islamabad: An important conference “International Peace and Justice Conference for Kashmir” was held at Kashmir House in Islamabad under the auspices of Voice for Justice in Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, a large number of people from different walks of life, including political, social and human rights representatives, participated in the conference.
The event was addressed by former President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Yaqub Khan, former President Sardar Masood Khan, Convener of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter Muhammad Safi, Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, Abdul Rashid Turabi, Nazir Ahmed Qureshi, Muhammad Rafiq Dar and other speakers.
The speakers highlighted the historical, political and humanitarian aspects of the Kashmir dispute and called upon the international community to take practical steps to provide the Kashmiri people their right to self-determination.
Finally, the special guest Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai urged both Pakistan and India to ensure full implementation of the United Nations resolutions and take concrete steps for a just and sustainable solution to the Kashmir dispute, so that lasting peace can be achieved in the region.
