Employees’ dismissal aims at disempowering Muslims in IIOJK: Mehbooba

Srinagar: Peoples Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti has said the dismissal of two employees by New Delhi-imposed Lieutenant Governor’s administration fuels concerns of a “wider agenda to disempower Muslims especially Kashmiris”.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mehbooba Mufti in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “Two more government employees have been terminated over alleged terror links and denied even the chance to prove their innocence.”
She said first they face marginalisation through biased reservation policies as revealed by recent disclosures on reservation certificates in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and now they endure wrongful dismissals with the judge, jury and executioner all on one side.
The Modi-led Indian regime has intensified its crackdown on government employees in occupied Jammu and Kashmir by terminating two more teachers on the baseless pretext.
The teachers, Ghulam Hussain and Majid Iqbal Dar of the Education Department, were dismissed under Article 311(2)(c) of the Indian Constitution, which empowers the authorities to sack employees without inquiry under the guise of “state security.”
Since 2021, the occupation authorities have dismissed over 80 Kashmiri government employees, including teachers, scholars, and civil servants, in the name of “national security.”
