Family demands return of body of Kashmiri labourer killed in Red Fort blast

Srinagar: A Kashmiri labourer from Ganderbal district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir has been confirmed among the 13 people killed in the Red Fort blast in New Delhi.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the deceased was identified as Bilal Ahmad Sangoo, son of Ghulam Hasan Sangoo, a resident of Baba Nagri Wangath, Kangan. He had been working in Delhi since 2019.

Senior Superintendent of Police Ganderbal, Khalil Ahmad Poswal, told reporters that the family recognised Bilal from photographs of the victims shared with them. The family asked authorities to bring the body home for last rites.

The tragic news has plunged the Baba Nagri Wangath area into mourning, as neighbours and relatives gathered to console the bereaved family. Bilal had gone to Delhi nearly six years ago to support his family through daily labour.
