Indian delegation escapes from Oxford Union debate, Pakistan wins unopposed
London: The Pakistan High Commission in London has said that the Indian delegation withdrew from the Oxford Union-sanctioned debate just in time, giving Pakistan an uncontested victory.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Pakistan High Commissioner Dr Muhammad Faisal was present in London for the debate, while General (Retd) Zubair Mahmood Hayat and former foreign minister Hina Rabbani Khar also participated.
The Indian delegation could not dare to attend and the Indian speakers chose to escape from the debate. The withdrawal of the Indian delegation exposed the weakness of the Indian narrative.
The debate was supposed to be about India’s Pakistan policy as a strategy to incite public sentiments.
According to the Pakistan High Commission in London, Indian analysts, who were spreading anti-Pakistan propaganda in the media, disappeared when they got the opportunity for an open debate.
Pakistan had prepared to win the debate through arguments, dialogue and legal positions, but India surrendered before the debate even began.
The non-participation of the Indian delegation in the Oxford Union became a question mark even in the eyes of its own people. Pakistan had prepared a clear, reasoned, and confident position.
