Pakistan thrash India by 191 runs to clinch Under-19 Asia Cup
Dubai: Pakistan defeated India by 191 runs to lift the Under-19 Asia Cup on Sunday.
According to Kashmir Media Service, chasing 348 runs, the Indian team was bowled out for 156 runs. Pakistan scored 347 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs, and set India a target of 348 runs to win.
Against India, Sameer Minhas played a blazing innings of 172 runs with the help of 17 fours and 9 sixes. He scored 103 runs in just 71 balls. Sameer is the top scorer of this tournament. Similarly, Ahmed Hussain scored 56, Usman Khan 35, captain Farhan Yousuf 19 and Hamza Zahoor scored 18 runs. Mohammad Sayam was not out with 13 and Naqab Shafiq was not out with 12 runs.
For India, Dipesh Devendran took three wickets, Khelan Patel and Hanil Patel took two wickets each.
India won the toss against Pakistan before the match and decided to field first.
Before the final, Green Shirts captain Farhan Yousuf said that they are fully prepared, will fight and will try to win the title.
Pakistan has won the U-19 Asia Cup title for the second time. Pakistan and India were joint winners in the 2012 event.
