APHC-AJK pays glowing tributes to Professor Shawl on his death anniversary
Islamabad: A prayer session was organized in Islamabad under the auspices of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter on the occasion of the death anniversary of the renowned leader of the Kashmir freedom movement, educationist and intellectual Professor Nazir Ahmad Shawl.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the prayer session, organized under the leadership of APHC-AJK Convener, Ghulam Muhammad Safi, was attended by Hurriyat leadership, workers and people belonging to different schools of thought.
Ghulam Muhammad Safi and other speakers, addressing on the occasion, paid glowing tributes to the late leader’s invaluable services and unwavering struggle for the Kashmir freedom movement.
The speakers said that Professor Nazir Ahmad Shawl was not only a thoughtful political leader but also a high-level educationist and scholar who gave a new dimension to the Kashmir freedom movement on intellectual, academic and diplomatic levels. They said that he effectively highlighted the Kashmir cause at the global level, especially in the UK, through his pen, wisdom and argument, and played an important role in bringing the Kashmir dispute to the international conscience.
The speakers said that even in the most difficult circumstances, the late leader never compromised on truth, principles and the legitimate demands of the Kashmiri people, the right to self-determination. His entire political and intellectual struggle was dedicated to becoming the voice of the oppressed Kashmiri people, awakening the world public opinion and making the world aware of the true nature of the Kashmir issue, which is still a beacon of light for the Hurriyat leadership and the young generation. they adde.
The speakers reiterated the resolve that the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, in the light of the legacy of its senior leaders and the sacrifices of the martyrs, will continue its principled, peaceful and democratic struggle with full perseverance and unity until the Kashmiri people achieve their right to self-determination.
The intellectual insight, ideological perseverance and struggle of Professor Nazir Ahmed Shall will be carried forward at every forum, they maintained.
